sone of the class as listed on eBay right now have such exorbitant prices. With the exception of the claws and sunshines do these figures really warrant a 40-90 dollars price tag? What do you think?

Figured.  I mean to me anyway the only figure I have any desire to spend more than 2 dollars on is the dark blue #18 Daiya, and even then only up to 15 dollars, purely because 18 has a lot of sentimental value to me.

yeah, I'm accepting offers on mine with high prices.  I suspect one doesn't really belong in the classification it's in, anyway.  (I have just one other class A figure, but I have two of these from separate lots in the USA.)  what's a fair eBay price for a "common class A" figure?

Honestly,

 

The price on Class A stuff can vary wildly.  From less than $5-10 all the way to the hundreds of dollars that you see some go for.  Best way to go about it is start an auction with a low bid and let the bidders decide what it is worth.

(granted, I don't always take my own advice - but an opening 99 cent bid is a good way to go)

Exactly! This way you'd at least make the sale, instead of waiting for that one person (sucker) who may never even show up, who will just buy it regardless of price.

I have listed (and promptly sold) my other class A figure.  in the reviewable history of eBay sales that I'm seeing, class A figures average 43 bucks and change, if you exclude one evening where a couple of simultaneous auctions didn't get much action.  there surely don't seem to be many on eBay.  maybe I need to tweak my search parameters.

On non-desirable figures that are really just for the completionists chasing the dream, or on Class A figures that are more on the common side, I would think an average price is around $12.  Now on desirable figures or truly rare figures, then the sky is the limit based on a whole lot of luck with whoever is bidding any given day.

As the rest of us understand, "fair market value" and the nebulous and unentertaining "whatever somebody is willing to pay", are rarely ever the same thing. It's probably Ironoak back under a different username.

Oh, please do enlighten me how "fair market value" and "whatever someone is willing to pay" are not the same. But keep in mind I do understand eBay is not a TRUE free market (try searching type O liver or Naz- paraphernalia). And I'm not Ironoak.

You said that fair market price equals "whatever anyone is willing to pay, " and then you are surprised that people are teasing you? Now that is almost adorable!

 

Let's say that the average price of a gallon of milk is $2. Let's also say that I am willing to pay $40 for one gallon of the same milk, just because I am a effing idiot. A grocer would be happy to sell a gallon of milk to me over another customer in order to increase their profits, but that does not actually increase the value. The milk is still worth the same amount to everyone else, despite one fool drastically overpaying.

 

I realize the literal differences between buying collectibles that are no longer produced and buying a dairy product that is extracted from cows on a daily basis, but most of you understand that basis of my example. Fair Price and Highest Bidder are not the same thing, and that seems like a pretty straightforward concept to me.

Wow...the guy I was referring to that was selling all these expensive muscles was a dude that was banned from here, Arforbes....after reading what he did glad he rejected my offer for his piece.
