Hey everyone. I've been searching the internet for YEARS for these dinosaur toys I had when I was a kid. They came 2 in a pack and came with a little hollow rock they could be stored in. There were various "sets" but mine was a little pink stegosaurus and a yellow T-Rex. I drew a picture and posted it to my Instagram @kickyring if anyone is interested.

I swear they didn't seem super generic, at least not as I remember them. They were painted, which I remember because I brought them to school and some tried to erase something with the stego and ended up rubbing the paint of it nose.

I'd love to see these guys again but I'm worried it'll blow my mind!

I should add, these were from the 80s (I'm 38 and had them when I was in grade 2).

Ha, that's a pretty neat sketch.

I remember bright coloured mini figure Dinosaurs but I dont remember the packaging or the hollow rock thing :-/

There are the monster in my pocket ones but they were mid 90's so you can rule those out I think?

Allowing for a little artistic license in your artwork, the IMPRO dinosaurs, originally issued by Chiver's Jelly in the UK were re-done by . . . . Imperial (I think), in bright colors? Might be them?

I might know what these are - not in a way that I can identify them, but they sound like something I had in my childhood. From my memory, the case was actually a warty-looking egg, not a rock, that split in half with a peg on each end of the egg that plugged into holes on the other half. The figures inside were small and... pretty much crap as best I recall. I had a sauropod that looked to be a tiny version of the Timmee Brontosaurus mold, but it was rubbery and painted.

 

However, these were in a "realistic" style, so if they're supposed to be the cartoony things you drew above, unfortunately it's not the same thing.

Thanks for the insight but I don't think any of those are it. Also the rock holder had a little key. I sometimes worry I'm imagining them.
