So,

I won the Forever Yes contest that was hosted by RJDragon,

and then I won the Forever Yes contest that was hosted by Optimusdrizzit.

I know, I know, eff me, I am a dick.

I would like you guys input on something, however.

With the current abundance of contests that have been running lately, including multiple yes contests going at the same time, would you fellas prefer that I run two separate Yes contests, one for each of the contests that I won.

Or, would you rather that I host a single Forever Yes contest, with a substantially larger prize than usual, in order to combine a couple of the contests?(The winner would not be required to offer any larger prize than a usual yes contest, I would simply do so this once in order to make up for receiving two separate contest prizes.)

So what are your suggestions?

Keep the current amount of contests, or combine the two?

Also, how did we end up with so many Yes contests going on simultaneously in the first place?

I think too many contests is overkill, instead we need quicker contests. I think people get confused with some and think they entered when they didn't. I over look some for that reason.

I hate seeing a contest run a month, 2 weeks max is better. Its easier to enter right away if you know it's sooner than later.

Imo

Yeah and I feel 2 separate contests gives everyone a second chance to win.

Yes, yes, participation trophies for all.

Kidding.

Seriously, though...
It would be easier to manage, if there were one lineal Yes contest. Just one.

I kinda messed it all up with all my silly contests but I had a bunch of extra stuff and I love the contest idea so wanted more of them!

I liked the idea of multiple for the only fact that if you dont really enjoy the lines being offered in one you could still participate in the other, opening it possibly to more people. Its a lot easier to run a single for sure and I think a nice large prize would be awesome as well (I mean who doesn't want something bigger and better?) but it limits it to people who would enjoy the items in that single prize pool. Dont know im wording it exactly the way I want too but I just wanted more people to be able to have fun i guess? and I saw more contests = more fun? personal opinion there, so thats why I made my additional contests at least.

That said I think either option is a great option (2 smaller or 1 larger) and I think the fact you asked us what we wanted is what makes it even that much better, no matter what you pick! Love this community!

I like the idea of MULTIPLE contests... BUT different types.  So for example, there should only be one forever yes contest.

Spread the toys around.  It's fun to see multiple people winning multiple items... helps solidify the community.

I also have to add that I agree with Nilla, make the contests shorter.  The only contest I see that makes sense for longer periods is Ponderosa's trading contest, and that works because he is a adding up trades/ points over time.

Should each contest have a set length that gets passed on with the next winner, if only for consistency? Looking through some of the older ones the time spans can vary quite a bit.

Can say I had trouble deciding on time frame based on the above, and rarely entering the darn things doesn't help either! Perspective be a'lackin' for me there.

There seems to be less people entering lately , either people don't have the time if they win to host one or don't have anything to offer up.

Maybe we just need some more fun contests, like art contests or photo contests where there is no stress of adding a prize or hosting.

Time consistency would be great! I know when I made mine I just winged the time frame honestly and didn't give anyone making a new contest any specific ranges they needed to use. I know the Ultimate one I made certainly needs a decent time frame (more so because I know what the list is becoming currently). Im hoping that contest will evolve into something fun that a lot of people can enjoy. I also know its kinda a drawing contest currently, but be prepared for some crazy fun in the future as its subject to change!

to conclude: A yes contest for a 2 week time frame would be cool, im going to throw out a one month idea for the "larger" contests like the ultimate. Thoughts?

so, it seems to me that I should combine the contests, and run a single contest that ends in a shorter timeframe.

Randommadness is currently running a Forever Yes contest, so there will still be two even after I combine the two that I won.

Unless I win that one, too.

Photo contest is easy and fun. The drawing ones are cool but I just cant invest any time at the moment. I dont want to half ass something just to get in the contest.

Contests are great but it would be better to have less of all the random contests and 1 standard yes contest and then side ones if people so wish. I like the idea of bigger longer ones, but that is because I only have time to jump on here a few times a month. Also when there are too many contest I am afraid to enter them all in case I get multiple wins (I'd feel guilty and dislike the idea of shipping a bunch of stuff lol).

Well, can we get a common consensus on the "just one Yes contest at a time idea?

YES! er... hahaha

Just one at a time sounds good to me, I think if we have multiple going its great but they should be different types of contests: Drawing, ULTIMATE, photo, etc etc)

One I've been toying with is a sculpt-off or draw-off. Random blurb of a thing and see what kind of interpretations people come up with, then voting on a winner. Feel like something similar was done regularly yeeeeears ago and now it's all blurring together.

We did one awhile back. I'm thinking maybe two years ago.

Wow, time flies.
