They stab it with their steely knives, but they just can't kill the Beast!!

Today I found out I was kicked off ebay.  I had been up to my old tricks, and was trying to lure my customers away from ebay to make private sales.  I had been doing this all along, but I guess ebay's spies caught on and were tracking my emails, and found me guilty of collusion with the Russians, Germans, Italians, Frenchmen, etc.  I am now back on ebay with a different name:  greenmountainbeastformers802.  Now I'm starting the arduous task of relisting everything and taking stock of my inventory.  I hope that my customers will continue to contact me on my facebook page or on here.  The perks of this may include extra weapons, slightly reduced prices, or a bonus figure.  Anyone who has bought from me knows I like to include a little something extra in orders over $100.  The perks for me are that I don't have to pay ebay and paypal 10%.

My new listings will have a better, more comprehensive list of beasts with Battle Beasts, Laser Beasts, weapons, and GMB exclusive Beasts separated into their own categories.

I believe eBay takes 11% of your winnings and PayPal takes 3%, so you lose a total of 14% by selling on ebay. It's really not even worth it anymore.

I'm all for private sales away from eBay.

You have to take different pictures and use different phrasing to not be caught again?

Or, you could just follow their policies if you want to use their site. ;)
If someone doesn't follow LRG policies, they get suspended or kicked off here, too.

11% is more than I think they should be charging, HOWEVER you do get a ton of eyeballs and possible buyers looking at your stuff for that 11%. And millions of people use eBay every day to buy AND sell, so apparently 11% isn't too much.
If it were, people would be jumping ship "en masse" (not just a little here and there) to other alternative sites.
They aren't.
And eBay's revenue continues to increase every year.

So, if you want to use their site to advertise your product, I'd suggest you follow their rules. Even if you pare down your listings, you can still get good name recognition from eBay listings, which people will also look you up on Google. If you have a store setup, you can get traffic that way.

I have a buddy that got his main account suspended a few years back. Why? Slow shipping. He got too many complaints and eBay banned him. He was complaining about it, and I said, "Well, you could always just ship your packages on time." He ended up using a VPN to open a new account to sell. Hopefully he is shipping in a timely manner now. Point is,t hat is wasn't eBay being evil and greedy, it was him breaking the rules and getting his just reward for it.

Yeah, private salesa re generally a no-no on eBay.  It's in their policies to protect buyers, even though it helps keep their profits going.  Trust me, you only need to get scammed once without recourse to learn this.

Wow, that sucks. Though I remember one sale that was being weird, and eBay wouldn't allow me to combine shipping, since one of the guy's Beasts didn't have a shipping quote for Canada. After a strange back & forth, he left me a pic and told me to look at it. Unfortunately, I was on my smartphone and couldn't see it, and the stress of the situation (I was at work and had to update frequently) made me gloss over his "look at the pic" comment, as it seemed weird. Only when I got home did I realize he had taken a photo of his email address and wanted me to message him there! Instead, what I did was keep asking questions, at which point he gave in and just told me to email him from there.

Since it was ebay's own screw-ups that made this necessary, I also felt a bit bad for him, because I could have gotten him in major trouble if someone had seen him suggest that. I wondered if they had some automatic thing that tracked down anytime someone made an "@" symbol or something.
