I was wondering what the ways were to obtain a Sunburst Lion.

I've heard that it came packaged a couple of different ways, like in the eight-set released in Japan or through a "peel off" sticker with his card or something like that. Or was there ever one that was found in U.S. packaging?

Thanx

That is a terrific question. I always wondered if any where actually obtained through that US promotion.

I'm willing to bet that the american one would be identicle to the japanese one, so if it ever was found loose, it would be impossible to identify if it truely was a US Sunburst. Though if one would ever to be found in the origional package it would have been mailed in (most likely a simple brown envelope that was used by many toy campanies) it would of couse confirm that it exists. Until recently I doubted that the 1/10 Gold Porsche 911 go-bot existed (a rare give-away for a contest) until it poped up on ebay and sold for a ton of cash.

My understanding was that it came in the Sunburst set only...

Then there was the USA advertisment, however, I have NEVER heard of anyone actually ever proving that they found one in the USA.

Then, I thought it was Dave B., Hydra, Sylvain or Arnaud that said something about the actual sunburst sticker coming on a card in Japan and you peeled it off and added it to your #1. Was I dreamin'?

Also, we NEED someone who owns a Sunburst #1 to take a good close up photo of it on a white background with the rub heated up (w/ a blow dryer) so we can add it to the guide/checklist!!!

Can someone please answer this question for Artimus???

Thanx,

I have never come across anybody that could prove without a doubt they had a U.S. Sunburst figure.

As for the ones in Japan, there was in fact two ways to get one. The first and easier way was to buy the Burstsun Special set. You had a 50/50 shot at either a Burstsun Leo, or Ghost Aligatron. The other was was to get one of the fairly rare randonly inserted cards out of the single packed boxes. These came in a sleeve inside the boxes that also held the Beasts normal bio card. I had mine for a year before I knew I actually "had" it. So check your boxes.

There was only one way to get a sunburst leo and that was in the the sunburst/clear gator set. There was however another way to obtain a sunburst sticker and that was by buying regular japanease battle beasts. Once in a rare while a silver card with a picture of white leo could be found in it and on the back of the card was a sunburst emblem to be applied to a beast yourself. Even though the american battle beasts advertised it those were the only two ways to get a sunburst anything

There's actually more than 4 types of boxes counting all the desginations and campaign notices. The card is only available in the Burstsun contest box though. Mine came with Rabbit Kid. I later swicthed him out with anohter guy. I am not sure which Sylvain ended up with.
