$500
$500? It was listed for $100. And shouldn't this be a bigger deal? Weren't there only two known to exist?

Apparently there was some ugliness about this item in the past, but I'm still quite clueless as to what's going. Ok then.

This was already a schmozz on here, and can still be found in the junkyard. I'm still of the belief that there were some shenanigans involved.

Quite a bit. I don't recall the specifics, but one showed up and it got into a bidding war. It went to a guy who was a freak about owning everything and being "that guy" about it. Just some inside jokes, and nothing against you at all.

We've had a lot of benders over the years. It's been interesting.
One dude was a regular contributor to the boards who, from what I knew, had zero problems on here with anyone. Then one day he posts this huge anti-Semitic rant that essentially said, "eff the Jews. Blame the Jews." Check the junkyard archives for all kinds of crazy shenanigans over the years.

Um, I should know this. I don't.
Could someone PM me some details?
And most importantly, are we saying this didn't sell? Or it sold for $100 and the last one sold for $1200?

Now that I'm abreast of that past auction, I have to say that it was an odd auction to say the least. Not to be accusatory, but it's a head-scratcher.

Oh my. I must have missed that on one of my hiatuses (sp?).
As for the recent one, I'm still unclear. Did it not sell? Did someone here swoop in and buy it?

It definitely sold for $100. For a split second I thought about getting it but didn't. Then, when I checked on it later it said it was sold. I thought it would have been a bigger deal considering its rarity, but I suppose not.

I think it's a big deal. How fast did it sell after listing? Can we figure that out?
But I do have to agree, it's a cardboard tube. That's a fact that can't be argued. I'd love to have one, but I don't think I could spend $100. I wouldn't even want to spend $50.
That's not because I don't like it (or even that I'm cheap). I just don't need to own it. I would, forever, be the only person in my house that would care about it. Even if you told the history of the tube there wouldn't be a single person that appreciated it.
That tube is hardcore MUSCLE nerd only. And I'm fine just knowing about it.

When I jumped on Ebay yesterday I saw the listing. As soon as I clicked it, it was already sold. Someone swooped it right up in what seemed like a matter of seconds.

When I saw it it was roughly 5:30 am, and it says the listing ended a 6:21, so it had to be up for at least 45 minutes.

For $100 I would have had to buy it, at least to have it in my hands and see it up close. I could always sell it later for at least what I paid.
Me too... for the sheer novelty of it.

Yeah, I saw it a few times, so suspect it was up for at least a few hours. I checked it out a couple times not knowing anything about it and tried to figure out why someone would buy a cardboard tube for $100.

Just get a toilet roll and write on it. Much cheaper.
