This project was a collaboration between myself and Triclops Studios and Tru:tek and Rampage toys.

 

Triclops came to us with an idea to do a kind of homage to the old Killer Tomato movies. We said hell yes so they came back with some great 2D art boards with a few versions of their idea from different angles and i got to work doing what i do with a giant lump of clay. The result was a huge(compared to most stuff i've made)ball of evil straight from some cursed garden in the depths of hell.

Once the sculpt was done Tru:tek went and made some awesome rubber versions but they were very pricey because of the massive amount of rubber that was needed.

Then the sculpt went to Rampage toys who collaborated with the famous japanese vinyl maker Skull Head Butt so they could use the tomato as a head for their line of B-movie based kaiju figures. So this full sized vinyl monster was born that i just love. Only the head was my sculpting but their body even though it was made long ago for lots of other monsters goes so well together.

I think there are a few blank grey resin versions of the ball in the man-e-toys shop right now. Rampage Toys has will have the full figure vinyl ones in the second to last picture at some show in japan very soon. Hopefully in a few months there will be a small vinyl release for the triclops store and for the man-e-toys store as well.

Reminds me of the cover of an old 80's horror flick. Cannot think of the name though...but on the cover its got a skull all dirty like he just came out the grave and a worm is going through his eye or out his mouth into his nose or some shit.....can't remember exactly.
