Hi guys,

I was hoping to get some input or pointed in a direction to identify this figure.  As you can see it is a knight with shield & drawn sword wearing scaled armor.

- The figure is a smidge over 1.5" and stands on an 5/8" oval base.

- His foot sticks off one edge of the base a little.

- There are no marking at all anywhere on the piece. There is a line on the bottom of the base, like it was cast.

- The color is bronze, however it is a pretty light piece (i was told probably tin).

- I acquired this piece from a friend probably in the early '80's - I'm pretty positive he didn't have any others, or that it was from a game.  With pieces this cool, I'm sure I would have known about it.

- I feel like it is not from a chess set, because of the base being so thin and the piece being so light, and the overall size.

- It is not "soft" like other pewter D&D figures I've seen in the past, close in scale.

- I could possibly be from a board game, but I've scoured the web on and off for years, no luck

- Maybe a one off, or a gumball machine prize

- I have no idea, and would love to find out its origin and if there are other pieces.

Any help, tips, hints or ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

It might be from a Kinder surprise egg until the mid 90s they had metal figures though only a few a year.

Acidonia, great eye! A little digging found this!

Dane (1976) - looks like I'll be trying to dig up a few more from that year and others close to it.

Thanks a ton, I wonder how he got ahold of this in the States?

Mystery solved.

In the 1970's  the Phoenix Candy Co. put out boxed candy in theme sets.

There were at least Popeye, Happy Days, Flash gordon and Star Trek. Each set had 8 different boxes (sort of trading cardlike).

The prizes in the boxes were often kinder  suprise toys. I have found very little information on this company. I hope this helps
