Ha, yeah, I should do something with that Cow--like trade it to you! Actually, the problem I've encountered is while I have a bunch of spare figures, I do not want to customize any of them unless they have problems. For example, I have a Raccoon I would love to turn into a Red Panda, but because he is intact I don't want to paint him.nice job! i would've never thought of doing a badger, but then again i have too much crap to finish up before i attempt to start another custom.
keep em coming!

Anyway, here is a quick Gibbon--composed of left over parts, of course--that I finished today. Gibbons are the classic "monkeys" (although that is a misnomer, as Artimus will tell you) people think of: long arms, swinging from trees, solid colors, etc. I always thought it was a figure that should have been made, and I just happened to have some good partial figures I could use to make one. I had to shave down the Sloth face to make it work.
This is actually a ton of fun, and now I see why so many of you do it. My plan now is to make more figures for myself of animals never made. I never plan on making a "realistic" figure in natural colors, though, because I want to stay with the theme of the line. I want to make my dog into a figure, other primates, a Red Panda, maybe some other birds, etc.
Thanks for the encouragement, guys.

*Ahem*...Gibbons are the classic "monkeys" (although that is a misnomer, as Artimus will tell you)...
Gibbons are not monkeys, they are apes that live in Asia. To be more specific, they are considered "lesser apes", while chimpanzees, gorillas and organgtauns are considers "great apes" simply because they are larger in size.
Gibbons are the most diverse of the great ape family, and spend almost their whole lives in the trees. Their arms are much, much longer than their legs, and they have great strength even with their small size.
But I digress...

Actually I was in complete agreement with you.*Ahem*...Gibbons are the classic "monkeys" (although that is a misnomer, as Artimus will tell you)...

I think you need to reread what I said. I was pointing out they are not monkeys, even if people refer to them as such, and that you would agree with me because that is your field of expertise. That is why I had it in parentheses and also said it was a misnomer (meaning a name misapplied). As I am sure you also know, people have a tendency to label all primates as monkeys, which was precisely my point.
I'm sorry for the confusion, because the last thing I would want you, as a professional in the area, to do is confuse what I said about any animal, especially because of my personal background in the area.

Do you mind taking a couple more shots of the Gibbon? I would especially like to see a side shot.
I love that you have started the customs! It is far more fun than I could have imagined! I also share your feelings about only using beat up figs. I have only used a couple mint figs for customs, and that was usually becuse I needed the armor to still look good, like the Red Faced Toad.
Keep them up!
