I'd prefer regular Kinnikuman on DVD, but Ultimate Muscle on Blu-Ray is better than No Muscle.   Good news overall.

Unfortunately, my external Blu-Ray/DVD/CD drive though seemingly good quality Asus, didn't come with actual Blu-Ray PLAYING software.   Does anyone have any good suggestions other than buying a standalone player?   So far VLC player (with ridiculous additional configuring of additional files from the internet), and Leawo are the only ones that weren't total failures but they both have problems.   Couldn't see menus in VLC so couldn't watch Castlevania with it.   Leawo got menus for things and let me watch that, but its controls are SEVERELY delayed and major pain.   Then I watched Blade Runner 2049 and it skipped the menu in that, not letting me see the included short films leading up to it, and the sound was staticy throughout the whole thing, so I kept the volume low to not be too irritated by it.   I had the choice of the DVD and Blu-Ray in hand, and it makes me wish I chose the DVD.

Like Angry Video Game Nerd, I REALLY hate Sony's Blu-Ray format.   But I don't like streaming like he does.

Sorry for the tangent.   Looking forward to see Ultimate Muscle which I wasn't even aware of while it was on TV and figures were in stores.   Got a bunch of figures and I saw the Ollie's Outlet discount price sticker still on them I wish I got them for.

I don't know if you noticed, or if it is important to you, but this release is "SD on BD". That means it is a Blu-ray disc, but the content is standard definition AKA 480P.

I'm not really sure why companies have been doing this, I guess maybe it's cheaper to press one blu-ray than a few DVDs? And they either don't want to go to the expense of remastering the original content or it is not possible for one reason or another?

Thank you

I was aware, the convenience of fewer discs, the slight difference in sturdiness of BD, and the fact that the series won't get the HD treatment either way mean I have no problem with that.

Well if we get lucky and Ultimate Muscle sells well DiscoTek could get us some OG Kinnikuman fingers crossed on that of course cause I'd kill for OG Kinnikuman myself that's the anime I want to watch the most

I think DiscoTek did say they upped the resolution a bit but its better than not having the series at all

Got mine coming.   Screw Amazon.   Right Stuf Anime has it about $20 cheaper for $48.97.

Was going to be $4 shipping but added another cheap DVD for $3 to put the order over $50 to get free economy shipping.   There are some mangas less than $2.
