According to Italian toy collectors, these figures came as surprises in bags of chips circa 2000:

That's a really cool 90s nostalgia lot.

Kind of an aside, but does anyone know how to specifically get these smaller, hard-plastic ninja guys? Used to be obsessed with getting that specific size of them from gumball machines in the 90s, but only ever found them once or twice.

There are other ones that are slightly larger and made of a flexible plastic, but I can tell from this image that this one is the harder variety.

I see those little plastic ninjas all over my area. Certainly a ton on ebay.

Yeah, they're everywhere, but the hard plastic ones are a more difficult variety to track down.

For example, neither of these varieties match that orange dude in the ebay listing I quoted. They're a more flexible plastic, and slightly bigger.

Don't mean to totally derail the thread but these look like smaller plastic ones

Necrobumping this thread because I recently came across one of these sports-themed figures:

Aside from the typical CHINA stamp, he is also marked with a 10, which leads me to believe there are at least that many sculpts in the series:

I think that 10 is just to go with the basketball jersey design.

That could very well be the case. The only other image i have seen of the reverse of any of these figures is of the discus thrower earlier in this thread and it clearly does not have a large number on it's back like the basketball player, though it does look like there is a mark that could be a smaller number 8 on the left side.

Considering these have the mimp sports vibe, has anyone contacted the artist who worked on those? I remember someone putting a link to his site on here sometime ago. Maybe he did some freelance work for a vending toy company?

Here is a pic of all the ones I have. Looks like I still need Kung-Fu, Tennis and Basketball to complete a set of known sculpts? Anyone know of any others, I count 8 total sculpts now, each one coming in 2 skin tone variations?

Full current list to my knowledge is:
-Kung-Fu
-Tennis
-Basketball
-Baseball
-Boxing
-Golf
-Discus
-Football

Here is a picture provided by another collector from Italy:

Looks as if the line may consist of 8 figures with four color variants of each sculpt.
