I recently won this Godzilla in an Ebay auction. Apparently, it's a toy found in crane machines in Japan! I'd cream in my jeans if I got a toy like this from a crane machine! Anyway, it came disassembled in a bag, and you have to heat the pieces with a blowdryer and slide them together. When the pieces cool, the toy is pretty solid. Assembling it was alot of fun, and much easier than those damned Zoids! <_<

This version of Godzilla 2000 is about 12 inches tall and 24 inches long. Godzilla fans will notice that it has green skin instead of black, which is accurate to the Godzilla 2000 design. The detail of the sculpt is very nice, and much better than the smaller vinyl Godzillas. It only has two actual points of articulation, on each of its arms. Despite this fact, it's alot of fun!

This first picture shows Godzilla in all his glory!

This Godzilla is large enough that you can get some good angles for pictures. The Godzilla 2000 design is also my favorite design (even though it was only used for two movies <_< ), and the details show interesting texture, so taking pictures of the toy is a blast!

This Godzilla even gets along well with the other toys! Here's Godzilla meeting Funshine Bear for the first time. Awww.... isn't that cute... they seem to like each other!

In conclusion, I'd have to give this toy an 8 out of 10. The sculpting is great, it's a nice size for Godzilla, and I love the vinyl material... but the lack of articulation bumps it down a few notches from perfection. It's a fantastic display piece, though!

That Godzilla is cool! I used to have an older version that looked very similar to that one. I can't believe they could have that figure in a crane game!!! <_<

Hey Tortle,
I too have the Banpresto G-200 fig.
I have to agree with you that the sculpt is excellent on this figure.
It's one of my favorite figures in my Godzilla collection.
My favorite. however, is my newly aquired Concorde Godzilla.
Like the Banpresto, the sculpt is excellent, and the figure requires heating to assemble.
Here's the cool part; 17 inches tall and about 3 feet long!!!
If I had a digital camera I would post a pic.

That's the very one Tortle!
Don't buy the line about them selling for $200 thought.
Maybe they go for that much at toy shows, but on ebay you can get one for about $40!
I paid $36 for mine. It is true that they are no longer in production. I think Concorde went under.

Very cool! By the way, does anybody know of a good Godzilla toy archive site? I can't seem to find any decent ones (besides www.godzillatoy.com, but that's a toy dealer so it doesn't count). Barry's Temple of Godzilla, the old one-stop Godzilla source, is unfortunately RIP.

Thanks for that club tokyo site gojiman, it`s killer!!

Hey tortle, don`t buy death ghidora from godzillatoy.com, they want $175 bucks for him. I`ve seen a few go for around $80- $120 on ebay. I lucked out, I payed $50 for mine when he first came out. The only thing that ticks me off is that pics of him on web sites show his wings fully extended while mine are almost sagging to the ground. B)

I gotta stop complaining about stupid things like that!! B)

Yeah, some of the prices on those sites are crazy. I just saw a bunch of vinyl Baby Godzillas on Ebay for $15, yet Chibigoji Toys wanted something like $70 each! B) So if I'm looking for something, I'll probably try Ebay first. Anyway, thanks for the links, Gojiman!

Ebay is the way to go for sure!!
Keep your eyes open for a new line of Bandai Godzilla figures coming to a store near you (asuming you live in the USA). They will be released next month I believe. This is the 6" vinyl variety. I'll try to find some pics to post. I have some of the Japanese Bandai figs. and they are excellent! The figures are sculpted exactly like their movie counterparts.
With a new domestic toyline coming, I should be broke into the better part of next year!!

Yeah, I've seen these, and I'm kind of torn with some of them since I'm comparing them to the Japanese Bandai vinyl Godzillas.

The 1954 Godzilla looks great, has excellent detail, and is the sculpt is pretty close to the movie monster design. It actually looks better than my Japanese 1954 Godzilla. But the Burning Godzilla looks a bit too cartoony and is not as detailed as the Japanese 1998 Godzilla. Destroyah and Gigan don't look as good as their Japanese counterparts either. But considering these toys are $7.00 vs. $15-$20 for the Japanese toys, it's a trade-off, I guess.

Also, if they're not made of vinyl like the Japanese toys, I don't think I'll get any of them. That vinyl just makes creature toys so much cooler.
