The last image of the Satan Cross absolutely confirms they're customs.

Both auctions have the blister card in the pictures. I figured they were apart of the Super Rare Trilogy by GodBeast(?).

The sale/s are a little off putting because it only says they're re-issues in the description, but not in the title of the sale. Like he's trying his luck of tricking the uninformed or lazy who might jump at the sight of the figure matched with the initial pic.

They recently sold a set of the Marty Hansen recasts/customs on ebay (3 total including the Sunshine with the removable chestpiece). It had a BIN price of $150 but with the option of making an offer.

The listing was done real quick; the seller probably needed the Sunshine and just decided to resell the other two.

Does anyone elso here on LRG have a Marty Hansen Trilogy recast set? willing to sell?

According to what little I know of these, they're part of a trilogy. Anyone here know who the third one is? Black Hole Sunshine? Mysterious Partner? :unknw:

Since I just read Chads new Auction Watch I thought I would write about my experience.

Full disclosure: I won the Spinning Head Ashuraman auction

I was concerned and noticed the shill bidding from a**y (who as of writing is no longer an ebay member) but...bid anyway.

I was also well aware that I would be overpaying for this recast/reproduction; I will probably never get my hands on a legit Spinning Head Ashuraman MUSCLE so to me this was the next best thing despite what the trilogy cost when they first came out. Also I guess (thanks to Chads info on the set at uofmuscle) they only made 20 sets; so am sure those who got them here on LRG probably didn't want to sell them.

When I bid on things on ebay or yahoojapan I tend to wait 5 minutes before (yahoojapan) and 3 seconds before (ebay) with a high amount that would be my absolute uncomfortable limit. If I really want something on ebay this is why I try to wait to the very last second in case a bid before the finish gets a shill bid higher etc (so am that a**hole type of bidder).

Most of the time it works and on occasion it has bit me in the butt. In this case my winning bid was $86 bucks (am sure the shill bid bumped it up $20-$30). Of course I would have rather payed less but...

The most interesting part for me is the 2nd auction with the Satan Cross; I realized that this would be more popular than the Ashuraman (despite it being a Repro) and I placed my maximum bid of $116,66 (not expecting to win).

Of course I noticed the shill bidder won with $119 and then surprise surprise, yesterday I got an offer for the figure since my last bid was the highest.

On the one hand I know I got hustled but I also expected to get hustled beforehand. I wanted to add the figures to my collection but I still can't help but feel weird about the whole thing.

Sometimes thats how collecting go...

You don't ever have to explain yourself, but thank you for sharing!!!

I feel like most collectors think there is a stigma to explaining your own thinking and/or collecting habits. I disagree, but I think I am in the minority. I think most people believe, "I can do whatever I want and don't need to explain it to you or anyone."

I don't think that's healthy, but that's just me.

I also think we should bring back some repo's given this post. I would think about bringing back the UofM store for that kind of effort.

Thank you for not judging brother (haha); I have grown quite fond of this community. So I didn’t want to do anything that would be “deemed” detrimental to the community.

For me it was about being transparent despite maybe having some think: “Man what an idiot for paying set amount etc etc”

So I shared my story & I agree with you (in terms of the stigma) because we can see this as a learning moment.

To further our knowledge about what something is worth, overpaying, realistic pricing etc

Which leads me to my next point…You have been doing this exact thing for years on a weekly basis!

I wanted to openly thank you Chad, uofmuscle and LRG have been my “Bible” in terms of my research and the wealth of information.

So I wanted to contribute to the community too (if you think no one reads your articles you are wrong!).

One of my favorite things to do on my way to teach classes is to read old blogs from the site.

Of course my contributions (“Showcases”) are just pictures of my collection and information that is not always correct or new.

In fact it is available for all to see from a variety of sources (like uofmuscle) but let’s face it, some people are lazy and don’t put the time to do the research.

I understand that the wealth of information can be quite overwhelming for newbies, so if my recent posts on existing collectables help then all the better.

I understand not everyone is as crazy as me (haha)

If it is decided to bring back repos/the uofmuscle store, I'll be the first in line to buy but please under $116 ;)
