I thought it would be interesting to put a little topic together about the various ways rubsigns can be damaged and any possible remedies.

1. Most rubsigns will never "stop working" just because of age or general wear. Some times, over the years, more heat is simply required to active them. Try holding one next to a light bulb for a few seconds, and the rubsign will almost always activate.

2. Water damage on a rubsign will permanently damage it if exposed long enough.

3. Rub signs that stay activated: If you ever attempt to move a rubsign from one beast to another, odds are if the front of the rub sign separates at all from the backing and heat is exposed, that the area that was exposed will always stay activated and never return to black.



Does anyone have a remedy to number 3?

Any other common ways rubsigns can be damaged or fixed?
