Some new arrivals today: Green #387 & Green #393; I was looking for these sculpts for quite some time and within the span of 10 days I found both in Flesh, Yellow & Green! I have completed my collection and now its just about getting sculpts in different colors:

Part 29 (12 Total)

 

Part 29 had 12 sculpts total and I have a complete set (along with sculpts in other colors); with this part the line had 405 sculpts total & this is a really hard set to complete.

 

At this point in the Kinnikuman Kinkeshi run; the popularity had waned and Part 29 had a significantly decreased/limited release than previous parts (meaning that the sculpts and availabilty of the capsules was smaller than previous runs such as Part 1 for example).

 

The popularity of Kinnikuman was not as high by this point, I read a Japanese article from 2015 (I think) about a seller who acquired left over Part 29 capsules and just kept them in storage for years! He must have made a killing afterwards!

 

Besides scarcity, the second annoying part about collecting Part 29 is that in person it is easy to distinguish between a vintage Kinkeshi and a 2008 re-release but not when looking to complete your collection online (unless the seller shows a picture of both the front & back of the Kinkeshi).

 

The third annoying part is that in 1991 they re-released the Part 29 collection in a boxed set (by then probably 3-4 years removed from the original release since Part 26 was released in 1985).

 

Again, in person the vintage Kinkeshi and the 1991 releases are distinguishable but not so much in pictures online (depending on the resolution and lighting) its harder to tell if its vintage rubber or PVC like plastic (especially since the YSNT mark is the same). I have annoyed many a few contacts in Japan and stores by asking and double checking if the Part 29 sculpts I am buying are truly vintage and made from good ol' rubber!

The most difficult to find sculpts are the Yellow ones and the most expensive are the Flesh sculpts. I have never seen a Daishi (Backing Board) for Part 27 in the wild and I have looked. Collecting this Part was easy for me because I was physically in Japan; this allowed me to save money on shipping and using a proxy service.

 

I have almost accepted the fact that I will probably never have a complete set in Flesh but if I see a good deal I will try!

"Robot Armor Kinnikuman" (am sure he has a legit name but you know hahaha) as I like to call him is an impressive sculpt in terms of thickness and size. He almost looks out of place in comparison to the sculpts of the previous lines but it's still pretty cool looking in my opinion. As of now I only have this sculpt in Blue & Green (Flesh will cost a pretty penny!):

This was not the first time we saw this sculpt (the first version had a tomahawk axe from Part 14 #203). So I wondered why this particular choice but at least the outfit is different and more detailed; still an awesome sculpt like his #203 counterpart. I have this sculpt in all 5 colors and I bought 3 of them from Mandarake

Another Ramenman sculpt and this in Flesh is insanely expensive; I have this in Yellow & Blue and I have never seen this vintage sculpt in Red or Green in the wild.

This was probably one of the first sculpts I saw when I first bought the 29th anniversary DVD/Kinkeshi release and I have loved it ever since! I kinda hate that they re-release sculpts instead of just giving us brand new ones. But this was at least the first original sculpt (kinda since we had already seen a battle ravaged Ashuraman with a sling in the series before); I dont bump into this one too often in the wild and I have never seen it sold in Flesh (at least in the last year or so on yahoojapan). I have this sculpt in Red

This sculpt was more difficult to find in it's vintage form because a lot of the 1991 Battle Collection versions of this sculpt are readily available. So when in doubt just ask the seller and they should be able to tell you if its "vintage" or a "reissue" etc.

Similar to sculpt #398, sculpt #399 was more difficult to find in it's vintage form because of the 1991 Battle Collection versions. Luckily that collection never had them in Yellow, so that is another telltale sign if its vinatge or not. I have this sculpt in Yellow & Red

This sculpt because of the extra add on accessory of the hind hooves is quite expensive; I own 3 sculpts in Green, Blue & Yellow without the hooves (I have seen the sculpts with the hooves but can't make myself buy it for the prices...that is until I see a good deal).

Another great sculpt in Omega Man; this sculpt was also re-released other times besides the 1991 Battle Collection. This sculpt is also quite expensive and even more so in Flesh. I have this in Flesh, Green & Red

Alot of packages from Japan this week and it's a good day anytime I can add a later Part Flesh sculpt to my vintage 418 collection. Let alone two!

Whenever I see the chance to get some vintage Green Kinkeshi I dont own (or any other colors) I do and I have been collecting them separately.

 

But only as they come in lots or if I see them at Mandarake for cheap. I checked each one for the YSN/T marking and those are added to my collection.

 

If they had no marking or a faint marking I didnt include them (unless I did not have that particular sculpt). 12 Kinkeshi from my Green collection I think are bootleg and until I bump into the vintage/legit sculpts I will replace them. The other 238 Kinkeshi are original

 

Regardless...

 

As of today I was able to reach 250 vintage Green Kinkeshi from the 418 collection!

 

Since they are so many I have to now display them on my bookshelf (I took them out of Detolf glass display case):
