Anyone else use Smooth-on Simpact?  Im using 85. Horrible shelf life once opened. Anyone use Simpact 60?

I love the hard rubber feel. Anyone know of any other brands similar to the ideal LRG feeling?

Thanks

I use 85, I just buy the smaller sample sets and usually go through them in a couple days of casting. I am lucky to have a Reynolds Advanced Materials near my house. I also don't cast anymore.

Not sure I was ever in the biz. Just too lazy and shitty to bother casting.

Much easier to sketch the design in my sketchbook and move on.

I mean, you were just starting to crack the surface, dude. In my personal, unsolicited opinion: You should give it another go.

Also: I'm  not real high on Smooth-On's rubber. JS

Not sure it's going to be that similar to the LRG rubber feel, but another that is pretty popular with minis and smaller sculpts is Smooth-Ons Task 2. Haven't used it yet personally but have a case of it waiting for some things to get finished up. Pretty excited to see how it turns out since it's not completely opaque and handles tinting well.

Blegh

I like simpact, but I have never used other stuff haha. I will most likely continue to use it.

If I ever cast again

I've been casting pretty chunky figures and the simpact 85 A was pretty nice, but for some of my smaller sculpts that have thinner parts I'd like to go with a little bit more of a sturdy rubber while maintaining the little rubber guy feel/texture/finish. Any suggestions?
