So, what are they like? Material, paint apps, playability?

Yeah, there seems to be a pretty wide variety of figures, too.

I wouldn't recommend it, personally. I was wooed by the promotional pictures and the fact that one of the factions, Silicon Cooper (the green ones), seemed absolutely adorable. So I went ahead and bought some blind bags, and eh. They are much smaller than they seem (smaller than a Crazy Bone for example, and they look and feel so brittle to boot), the paint is badly applied and if you want to avoid those enormous bases well THAT'S TOO BAD because they have some ugly chunk of plastic below their feet so they won't slip off the effing thing. Even for a buck you can get much better than this, and it saddens me to say it because man, those scrap robots looked nuts.

Smaller than crazy bones isn't so bad, but I hate figures with bases.
It looks like cutting the bases off would be a pain in the ass too, if you wanted to do it to where they could still stand.

I'd still consider trading for some, just to get a feel for them.
