Got this guy right from a vending machine back in 1988 or so, held onto him ever since. Has an unfortunately placed hole so he can function as a pencil topper but, well, the hole's not actually large enough to fit over a standard pencil. Would love to know if he belongs to anything specific. Just says CHINA on the back.

I have one of those too, except in orange. I don't think it belongs to anything specific, just a generic capsule toy.

Perhaps it's more of a thump wrestler or a finger puppet than pencil topper?

It's hard to tell the scale from a photo, but it's pretty small so I think it would have to be a pencil topper.

Oh cool, someone else who has one. I thought so too, but the sculpted detail's pretty fine, so I was wondering if it had maybe been part of a collection of miniature animals/creatures you'd have gotten in a bag with a cardboard header, etc.

It looks like a gumball bootleg of another figure.
