Battlebeasts have got to be one of the kewlest toys from my child hood (in the top 5, under MUSCLE/Spinjas/TFs/GI Joes). I remember getting a few here and there when I was in 6th-8th grade. They were sweet!

About 25 or so, I started collecting toys again (part becuase I worked across the mall from KayBees/part becuase of eBay).

I always said that I would never collect BBs because of the cost per figure. However, a friend of mine had a near complete set that he was selling at a good price, and I figured, "Why not?" Included in that set were all the low # Lasers so I got my first glimpse of the LaserBeasts, which up until then I hadn't really known about.

About that time, TGB began to take interest in M.U.S.C.L.E.s/Kinnikuman, which of course, is my main focus, so we met and swapped toy interests, etc. Anyways, that sparked my interest in the higher end lasers and since I can pick up stuff off of Yahoo Japan, it allowed me to get some of the higher end stuff relatively cheap.

In the mean time, TGB kept badgering me to get a BB/LB board going, like my Kinnikuman one and we finally did.

Recently, I was able to get a ton of lasers from Yahoo JP for a decent price, and this allowed me to complete my collection of BB/LB figures all together, but since then, I have realize that I have WAY too many toys and have begun dropping certain toylines out of my collection. BB/LB being the first. GI Joe will probably be next, then the newer SW stuff. That being said, I don't think I can or will part with my TF's. Especially with the Galaxy Force/Cybertron line coming oput and the effing awesome Alternators/Binaltech line.

Regardless, my collecting has spiraled out of control, and I need to cut back.

All in all, my collection of BB/LBs were fun while they lasted, but now they are off to others who will no doubtedly enjoy them more than I!

For me, I love to collect various toy lines and miniature game lines, each with it's own various degree of seriousness.

Neo-Star Wars- This is probably the toyline that I am the most casual about. I just try to pick one up whenever possible, and I really am only interested in Jedi nowadays any ways. I just try and pick up one of each different Jedi/Sith. I have always prefered the ones with their brown cloaks versus the ones without. But, I don't ever go out of my way to get them. If I am at a toy show or flea market, or even Walmart or something, I will pick them up, but I have never gotten one off of Ebay, and I really don't go to any boards to discuss them at all. I would also never pay anymore than about 10-15 dollars for a figure, MOC.

G.I. Joe- This toyline I am kind of inbetween. I don't try and collect them all, only mainly the figures that I like. I would only really want one of each variant of Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow anyways. Once I find a figure that I really like, I do actively search for it, although recently I have been concentrating on the new stuff which has me looking in Targets and such instead of on Ebay/online. Most figures I am able to pick up for relatively cheaply, but there are still a few figures that I wouldn't mind paying a little bit more for, such as the Argentina Ninjas "Ninja Ku" and "Satan (Sei-Tin)."

Battle Beasts- These are the ones that I am the most serious about, but not quite as serious as others. I don't need one of every variation, nor do I really need a Sunburst Lion or Stone Cobra. I really just want one of each figure in the end, ontop of any customs of my own or someone else's creations I might have been able to pick up. I do have to say though that this toyline is by far the one that I enjoy and love the most. It's more simple than other lines, and doesn't have a strong story, but those qualities almost make it better for me, giving me more room for my own stories and creations. I don't really get any of the Battle Beasts MOC, I really don't collect anything MOC anymore, except the Joes, but only so I can open them and cut off the file cards. I would just open them anyways, so I could display them and such. heck, I even play with them from time to time. It's fun to have a bit of childhood escapism from time to time when life is just a little bit much. There are a few of the Laser Beasts that I wouldn't mind having the package as well, but that is mainly of the characters that I really like, such as Puzzlecolor (which I recently got), Dino Gator, Slag King, and others. This is primarily because it's fun to see the illustrations on the card and to have the little pamphlet and such. But I still open them.

I don't know if I really answered your question much, or if I just really ranted on for a while. Bottom line for me with Battle Beasts is that I want to collect them so that one day I can have one of each, but I don't really let it get too serious that I can't just sit down and enjoy them for what they are: toys.

Man, when i was a kid i lived on a farm 6 miles or more from the closest town and had very few friends from school that could come see me where i lived. My dad made a very decent pay as the head bobyman/painter at a local bodyshop and always bought me kool toys (mainly Transformers/BB's/Dino Riders/He-Man/and TMNT). When i went to school, i had to wait at a babysitters for him to get off work and thats where me and my friends would have HUGE toy battle with literly hundreds upon hundreds of toys (the lady had 6 kids of her own and watched for 15 more  )

Anyways time goes on as it does and the toys soon found themselves in boxes and whatnot. He-Man, TMNT, BB's, Transformers all died off within a few years of each other and i was left to a few games and TV.

G2 soon came out and hit me like a ton of bricks, though it was mainly a re-release of G1 molds I was too young for the first waves of tf's. So these were like the holy grail to me and i gobbled them up.

Flash forward another 5 years and I find a small magazine that had a small article of the Trendmasters Godzilla toys. I read it and was like wow...there are a ton things in this mag...including a price guide.

I was now aware that there were people who still collected toys and made a living doing it!!!

Another few years , it's 1999. My dad gets divorced from the She-bee-eye-itch of all things evil and we have freedom with our money for the first time in 5 years!!! My dad goes crazy and buys me the first wave of Beast Wars Transmetals for my B-Day and spends a few hundred bucks on getting back into model railroading and collecting models.

By the end of '99 i've moved yet again for 6-8 months in Vegas and Buy the rest of the Transmetals that came out that year.

2000 I end up joining my dad in collecting fever and down a record amount of doe (3k) on comics, TF's, and whatever toys my friends want to sell :D

Not until i started my website did i find an old classic toy line i liked (BB) was an offspring of Transformers! I have now been spending the last three years bidding on BB's on eBay (I now understand a few of you guys beat me to a few, lol) Now I am here and make my living working at an A&W and using every penny to fuel my raging collections and selling stuff on ebay from time to time.

My goal is to be the premium toy and game collector in my state (and i'm so far within the top 20 right now) #1 in my state for Tf's and though my website is very simple I try my damnedest to be the only one out there with a truely accurate list of everything TF. Kinda hard when there are over 18K toys and items to detail and document....

I also have many amazing plans lined up for the Future that i hope will rock the toy world (keep a close eye on me this year)

Hmmm

Missed this post originally, well I'll give you some background on me. I was 7 when GI joe was released and that's all I wanted. I would buy some other toys when I was younger, but nothing major. I would always go back to GI Joe. Then video games got really popular, original NES in 86' so my interests went towards video games and comics. Who didn't collect comics? I have tons of them from the 80's and early 90's. I bought every one elses collections, or traded stuff for them.

Then about 7 years ago, I bought my first house. I started going through all of my old stuff. I still had a lot of toys from when I was younger, and it was kind of cool going through them again. Anyways I started collecting hot wheels, well the only good thing that came from that was I started collecting other toy lines. I am pretty much done my Gi Joe collection, I need some of the 82 Straight arm figures. And I moved through other toy lines on my way. Battle beasts are on top right now, I remeber buying these when I was younger with my brother. We played with them quite a bit. I only need 2 more Laser Beasts to complete my 1-112 collection. But I still collect lots of other toy lines, but my favourites are GI Joe, Battle Beasts, Starcom, Centurions, NBC. I also collect 80's video games and japanese games with a passion. I really like the obscure systems like Turbografx and Neo Geo. I am always willing to trade other toy lines and games, I will try and post a huge list when I get my office in the basement completed.

I collect BB's probably for two main reasons; one is from my childhood, and the other is from my adulthood.

When I was a kid (somewhere between 5 & 7) I remember walking to the Thrify's that was nearby and buying several packages of BB's (series 1) and just thinking that they were the coolest things ever! What was also nice about them was that they were small and affordable.
I always made sure to keep my toys in the best possible conditions and my BB's were some of the few toys to escape my mother's wrath. Whenever she got mad at me, which was fairly often I might add, she apparently found it quite pleasing to destroy and/or throw away my stuff. I lost a lot of GI Joe's and Transformers due to this problem, but not too many BB's. I did lose a few, but not too many.

Later on, as an adult, I began to get facinated with animal behavior and ecology. I remember sitting in my Anthropology class and thinkin' that it was so cool that there were a Gorilla and Orangutan BB, yet bumbed that there wasn't a Chimpanzee.
That was about 3 years ago and I started collecting again around that time.

I find this toyline sparks my creativity not only on a entertaining level, but on a professional one as well. These figures intrigue me so much that I want to learn more about their namesake's real life behavior, so it helps me stay well read in my profession.

I got my first battle beasts (spider and crab) in 1987. They were soooooo cool.
I bought a few more and finished with 6 BB and 2 LB.
Five or six years later, a friend's brother gave me about 10 more, and I was happy to see and get some new ones. But when I was speaking about BB in France, nobody seemed to know these toys. :D

I've always been looking for BB/LB, but never really seriously, until I've tried on Ebay. Now I have more than 100 BB/LB, and chariots and playsets... :D

What I like is only Loose figures. If I get a packed one, I get it out. :D
To me, Action figures need to "live", and not to stay in box.

What I also want to do with my BB Army is a little story, with pictures outdoor. I still do know which one will be the hero, but I have most of the story in my head. B)
