I've tried finding information online about the rarity in distribution among the Trash Bag Bunch.

While I see no official evidence, it sure appears that certain figures were more common than others.
I've based this on my own child-hood experience hunting at toy stores, and the figures I currently

see for sale online.
Admittedly, this may by complete rubbish I've just imagined, and they were all produced in equal numbers.

Perhaps, the perceived rarity is due to collectors favoring certain figures so they were harder to find.

Either way, I'm curious to know what other collectors think.

Does the graphic I've created here seem accurate:

Red: Rare
Blue: Uncommon
Green: Common

I suppose it's possible that #35 and #36 are the only true "rare" figures, and the other reds are just blue.

I think all the series 1 figs are fairly common.

I took my time to collect the entire series, and never gave more than two dollars for any fig.

None of them were particularly hard to come by.

Fair enough.

Guess it's just scarcity created by fans of certain sculpts.
Thanks for responding.

My initial thought is that they were produced in equal quantities. But then, I note that Liceplant was one of the last ones I got, and I'm not the only collector who picked that one up towards the end.

Yeah, that's what it seemed like.

it would be interesting to know if it really was just because everyone wanted him.

The only mention I can find is for those 2 "bonus" figures.

I certainly never got one. But I guess it had to happen often enough for them to still be floating about.

Looks like series 2's almost non-existence creates enough rarity for the entire line.

Also, the prevalence of Trasher, Fuminoid, Wastor, Bio-Degrader, Prof. Garboff and White Washer

make me feel like there was some % system.

But again it's possible most collectors just didn't want those guys- I know I've heard people argue how lame some of them are.

Personally, I think they are all great. Even with the apparent variation in scale on some of the Disposers.

Each of them seems like they could be part of this elaborate mutant opera.

I mean, look at White Washer, you know it would be a boring day if that thick lump wasn't around.

Sanitizor always seemed like the leader to me.

Fuminoid would jump in with his weird smog staff and foul up the air.

So, Fumigator has to come in to nullify the toxins with his yellow device, so Breezor can fan it all away.

Just saying, each of those faces has a story.

I've often thought some figures were much harder to come by than others. However, due to the really low demand, prices are low across the whole of series 1, regardless of availability.
Personally, I've been trying to make my favourite figure 'rare' for the past four years, lol.
