I've decided to go for a set of these since they have hit first level clearance at TRU.

Is anyone actively trading?

Each figure comes in THREE color varieties plus the metallic version.  The company packaged checklist does not list the 3rd color.  So I ignored the numbering and made a checklist showing a place to tick off each variant.  50 sculpts X 4 colors = 200 figs.

Super rare flocked editions also exit of at least one sculpt per 5 factions.

Anyway, here is the checklist that I made:

Is there consistency with the packages and the guys shown?

I can hook you up as long as you do not care what color.

I finally sorted the packs that I bought before Christmas.

I am missing 52/200.

I have to say, I didn't think Series 1 had been a particular success, certainly not here anyway, so I'm a little surprised to see a Series 2 on the way. However they're obviously hoping to fill the vacuum left by the short-sighted withdrawal of Trash Pack from the market.

I think the series 2 figure look far superior to the series 1 figures, to be frank.

From what I can tell, Series 1 was a success.  At least 4/5 themes were.  The Aliens theme (green capsule) would sell out quickly. The Dinos, Monsters, and Insects would sell decently.  The reason I can tell that TRU keeps getting new stock frequently, is because pack after pack of Sea Life keeps accumulating.  As you might expect, no one wants the ridiculous-looking Sea Life.

I think they succeeded as impulse toys, not as collectibles.  Just something quick and cheap to buy your whining kid.  The single capsules were $1 at TRU and Target and sold out quickest of all (except for the Sea Life ones), even though the cost per figure was even less than $1 in the larger packs.  You could tell that the blind capsules were restocked frequently because the example figure is different each time they put out a new box.

The two playsets also sold quickly once they hit first level (30%) clearance.

Here is the status of the cheap collectible toys at my local TRU:

Except for some playsets, Trash Pack is gone.  Mutant Mania is gone. Crashlings are gone except for Sea Life. Bungess are warming the pegs -- but these are not blind-packs. Kre-o blind-bags are long gone.  There are no blind-packs currently stocked whatsoever.  We never got Atomicron, Kobots, Zomlings, Zombie Zity or anything like that at all.  This section of the aisle is basically empty.  Some SickBricks have moved in -- again; not blind-bags.

Plenty of room is ready and waiting for Ugglys Pet Shop, and apparently more Crashlings. Since we never get the cool European lines, I guess we have to settle for more silly Crashlings.

Crashlings Series 2 screams Pokemon -- which probably is in their favor.  I suspect Bots will do very well.  Beasts and Dragons will do well. Explorers -- I guess these are like Pokemon looking astronauts or something? -- will do poorly.  Ninjas from space (?) sound to me like they will do horribly -- but who knows.  I don't think kids crying for a toy really care about logic or backstory or anything besides getting a toy in their hands right now.

The number one thing Series 2 has going for it is those translucent chase figures.  Translucent plastic is way nicer than the poor quality metallic paint they used in Series 1.

I haven't been the biggest fan of this line, but I'm happy it's been successful enough for a Series 2. I can't really tell enough from the video to make a judgment on the sculpts/characters, but I will say that I know I am going to want some of those translucent ones! Was one of those amber-colored ones shown on the bottom a Sphinx? Looked like it to me, and I want it.

I've bought these on impulse a few times, and all the figs have been given away.

On the other hand, I have a crew of ID4 aliens playing with a pile of the meteors.

I only bought a couple of 10-packs when these came out, however Crashlings 4-packs have hit Poundworld (along with Trash Pack Series 4 5-packs, haha) so I filled my boots. There were ten different 4-packs available, two for each theme.

Anyone hear anything more about Series 2? I'm wondering if they're still planned.

Moose's business strategy is not unlike that of a travelling medicine show, which rolls into town, stirs up a huge hubbub, makes a fair amount of sales, and then gets out before the mobs tie them to a rail.

They weren't?  Oh, right.  Not enough puns, and the plastic wasn't very squishy.

So, I got a lunch break special lot of these from eBay... and here’s the damnedest thing— unlisted color variation on the werewolf. Anybody seen this or other unlisted variants before?
