Just popped in my local Super Target today to pick up the last Series 2 four-pack I needed, when lo and behold I find a couple Series 3 playsets crammed on the lower shelf. Labeled 'Volcano' and 'Forest,' each playset is $19.99 and comes with a single gold figure. Furthermore, the pictures on the box confirm that the US will get the original Italian Series 3 next and not the Cartoon Series as we had all suspected.

The Volcano set comes with a gold Brags and the Forest set comes with a gold Magitronco. I didn't catch the English names.

Will update when I have pictures.

[Scroll down for updates]

Sweet! I have yet to see these, but we always seem to lag a bit here in central Texas.

I'm amazed. I would really, really like to know exactly which figures are being released.

I wonder whether it will be a full Series 3 release or not. Spain only got 35 of the 42 Series 3 figures; they got the ordinary figures and 7 Magic Egg figures, but not the Newsstand exclusive figures (Irpido Roccioso, Ramartiglio, Squalis, Crudelion, Sentinel, Electricante, Spiritonero).

Gold Brags and Magitronco appear to be brand new figures too.

We need more info stat!

Damn it! I've barely even started on Series 2, STILL not done with Series 1, and 3 is threatening to barrel its way down to the stores if these playsets are any indication.

The full roster of figures was listed on the side of the box, but there was a crowd in the aisle and I didn't get a good look. Took a quick pic of each box with my mom's phone, so I'll post them once I get them onto my computer. I know Electricante was in the picture on the front of the box, though.

Went in Walmart today and it seems they've (FINALLY!) started stocking Gormiti again. They had a bunch of Series 2 Wave 2 stuff, but they also had the Series 3 playsets and I got a good look at the figure lineup on the side of the box. It seems the US will once again be doing things very differently from other countries.

There are a total of 35 figures, 5 to each tribe. The newsstand exclusives are present(Electricante is named Electricon, while Spiritonero becomes Darkalion), but 7 figures are still missing. Brags and Magitronco were conspicuously absent, though I'm not familiar enough with the Italian line to recognize which of the other tribes' figures were missing.

Let's just pray that the missing figures will be released in some way or another, unlike The Mastodontic and Multiform Anonymous.

Electricon? I do believe that name was taken. Silly Playmates.

Magitronco was a Magic Egg figure, and so was Brags I think. But I must be missing something, because the old, old, old checklist I have scanned from Series 3 packs in Italy shows each Lord, two standard figures, and a newsstand figure for each tribe. One of the missing figures is from the Magic Egg, but where is the other?

They did the same thing on the UK Cartoon Series packs - the gold playset Electricante was called Electricon. In the little comic with UK Gormiti mag issue #4 his English name is apparently "Electrifier".

Saying that, what appears on the packs isn't necessarily what appears on the cards. Cartoon Fiery Hammer is called Firefist on the back of UK Cartoon Series blister packs but keeps his estabished name on the cards.

Magitronco was a Magic Egg figure, and so was Brags I think. But I must be missing something, because the old, old, old checklist I have scanned from Series 3 packs in Italy shows each Lord, two standard figures, and a newsstand figure for each tribe. I think in Italy they tend to stagger the release of new figures. So early checklists might show just 14 figures, then more are added (to the foilpacks and checklists) over time.

Anyway it does look very much like it's the Magic Egg figures absent from the US. But again, they could be added at a later date. Or not!

Hey man! I found these too at my local target and luckilly I had a few gift cards on me so I got them for nothing! They are pretty sweet and I have a few pictures from my phone so I thought I would post them. I like them a lot! They are pretty awesome! ALso don't forget that Playmates said they are releasing up to 90 new gormiti figures this year! So this is basically the year of the Gormiti!

isn't it weird how all 6 fire trive figures are shown in the volcano playset but the box in the back only shows 5 figures per tribe? Do we have an official confirm on these?

The first Volcano character on the left side of the box is Sentinel that in Italy was a Magic Egg

So, we're missing the Magic Egg figures? Looks like the US might actually get the Magic Eggs this time, instead of just shoving them into the four-packs.

Actually, The Mastadontic was shown on the Fire Mountain playset box even though he was never released in the series proper, so it isn't a good thing to judge by. All 6 Forest Tribe figures are shown on the Forest playset too, despite Magitronco not appearing on the list. I'm guessing the US will get something similar to the Magic Eggs this time around, and that's how we'll get the missing figures. They obviously have the molds, since we have a gold Brags and Magitronco there, so I don't see why they wouldn't release them in some way or another.

We'll just have to wait a bit until we find out more.

Actually, I've never seen these before. Someone made a topic the other day about a Forest playset, but it looked completely different(and a lot cooler). Someone go get Boa or Strontium, quick! It would be interesting if these really are exclusive to the US.

I can't find anything made for Gormiti previously that looks like these, but I don't pay a lot of attention to the playsets and stuff. These could just as easily be older sets produced for the Italian Series 3. Most countries haven't gotten that far, and the UK skipped it, so it would be a rare item if that was the case.

Stronium probably knows this one.

Either way, these are so much better than the old playsets and even the Island of Gorm, I think.

I have actually seen these playsets before, in previews for the upcoming Titanium series. They are brand new playsets with that series, although I doubt the italian release of these will include gold Series 3 figures.

So the US gets the brand new playsets even before Italy does? Now that's interesting. It seems that Playmates doesn't want to skip over any of the older series after all, even if it would mean synchronizing schedules between the US and Italy. Well, guess it was about time they did something right.
