Kinniku thumb wrestlers are indeed weird.

They appear to be bootlegs cast from DekaKinkeshi, and are usually marked CHINA on the back.
Some come in a hard plastic variety, while others are a softer, much more flexible rubber.

Cool! I've got him plus another that I got in a big lot several years ago on yahoo japan. There are no marking except for "CHINA" on the back of each. (BB cobra added for size comparison)
