I'm wondering if any non-Japan residents have successfully purchased anything from an auction on this site? I have a brother who lives there and doesn't mind me sending my Amazon purchases to his place, but I'm not going to ask him to front me for my yahoo auctions. :)

I was successful in setting up a user account and saved searches, but I'm a little confused by the payment options. If anyone has in fact looked into this before; is it possible to buy from this site internationally or does it essentially require a Japanese bank account?

Many from here buy from there all the time. But we have to use a proxy bidding service like rinkya, shoppingmalljapan or private parties. I buy from YAJ maybe 4-5 times a month and use a private party to bid and pay for me and I just pay him in paypal. I do know that the majority of payments are by bank transfers and another service that is like paypal but only in japan. i know a few take paypal, but that is probably less than 5%.

you can PM me with any more questions you have.
