Hey guys, this is a cool toy-line that I recently discovered that is definitely aimed at younger children. Some of you guys may like them, but I think they'll be more suited to those of you with kids.

Here in Canada, one of our "great Canadian retailers" is going out of business. So I've taken advantage and picked up several boxes of these figures for my daughter. She loves small monsters so these looked pretty good. (Especially since I was buying them at $2 - $3 a box).

They're small, hard plastic monsters in various poses with number values under their feet. I think the idea of the game is obvious: Whoever has the highest number wins. We don't play the game, so we don't care for the number values or anything like that.

They have zero articulation, but as stated they're hard plastic so they're definitely rugged enough for young children to play with. My daughter has been bashing them off things since Christmas morning and I haven't seen any paint wear.

At full-price, I don't think I ever would've bought any because I believe they were pretty pricey. I do think they're worth it if you can get a bunch in a lot for a good price.

Just wanted to let you guys know about these guys just in case you needed a little something extra for the kiddos!

I bought a bunch of these guys when I saw them at toys r us a few years ago. They're AWESOME! Really nice sculpts and paint jobs. They counting game is pretty bad, seems like an homage to the old MIMP number system.

It doesn't surprise me one bit that Zellers would still be selling a nearly four-year-old line like Number Busters, even on clearance.

Here's the old threads on the line just for reference's sake: http://www.littlerub...showtopic=25981 and http://www.littlerub...showtopic=28112

They're surprisingly like Gormiti, actually.

I didn't realize there was already threads about these guys! Also, yes, Zellers is a wonderfully notorious store for selling old merchandise. I actually work part-time for them while I'm in college. I usually re-direct a majority of my customers to other stores where they can get newer merchandise for cheaper prices. (I didn't think anybody on here would know about Zellers!)

All that being said, I'm glad we got them at the prices we did. I don't think I would've paid full retail. I've hidden away the starter set with the "battle arena" for when the clearance percentages get really high.

The threads are from 2009 and one's in the Gormiti subforum of all places - I didn't expect you to know they existed. ;)

Word gets around when you know enough Canadian collectors. I even have my claim to fame as an American who's bought toys from a Zellers last summer during TFcon, which probably won't exist when I go again this summer.

Not to derail the thread but yes, the final date for all Zellers stores is supposed to be March 14th. So if you need something and want it for cheap, ask one of your buddies now!

I think we only got the 10-pack in the UK, which is annoying. I have that and the figures are great. I'd definitely be interested in anything else from the line.

Useful link for anyone in the UK who's interested in getting the 10-pack cheaply

Draznar, Any way you can take pics of what's available to see if there are any not released in the USA as we only got about a third of the figures on the poster before the line got pulled and I'd love to add to my ranks. Thanks!

Like ROTF Burning Fallen exclusives that even now still sell for full price, something like $40? :teehee: Never change until you die, Zellers. Never.

And here is the photo I promised so many days ago! Also, a PDF file of all their cards/stats/names. I haven't seen any others on shelves to know if Canada got anything else up here. I keep seeing packs with Aqua Strike and whoever he is packaged with though. I hid a couple at the nearby Zellers just in case one of you guys needed one.

That is actually pretty disappointing. Like I said, they were originally expensive, so these guys probably didn't do so well due to their pricing. No idea what they were worth down south, but the only time I saw them here they were expensive. As stated previously, however, I did only see them at a relatively over-priced retailer. So that might've had something to do with my experience. Though I never saw them at Toys'r'us or even Walmart for that matter.

Either way, it sucks there likely won't be more. The sculpts aren't bad and they're definitely rugged figures.

If its not too late-- if you can find another of those aqua strike packs-- I will gladly trade you the 10 pack starter set for it..and it looks like you found some other 4 packs as well-- if they had any other different ones-- (other than the one I listed below (or the one with the walking lantern fish & troll in it) I would be interested in those as well)

For others looking-- I believe I also have 9 of the 10 starter figures loose and the 4 pack with the elephant, frog and phoenix in it..
