In addition to the original topic; Great looking display case by Fuzz I thought it would be a little more clearly arranged to open a new topic about this Display case doing a little review.

Today I received my package from Hong Kong where I ordered 3 of these displays directly. Everything came in well packed and without problems.

First thoughts;

My opinion about this display was very postive looking at the images I'd seen so far so my expectations were pretty high. The reason for me to order this type of display was the ''Japanese look'' it had to it. So white and sterile/clean looking it felt like it would be the perfect house for my little Beastformers. Pics can be misleading sometimes so I was really exciting to open up the box I received.

Box & Material/inserts;

The box is pretty sturdy and you can directly see its a display that's designed by a team of well skilled people because everything inside the box is placed as efficient as possible to reduce the package and I've to give a big compliment to the team of Legend Studio since this was done very well. There's a very summarized description of how to put the display case together but its more than enough since it almost speaks for itself. All of the parts are packed and well protected against possible scratches since the all the transparent parts as well as the mirror are protected by an extra protection layer which you've to peel off before assembling. The smaller parts like the little rotating lights and the holders for the shelfs as well as the USB cable for the power supply (6x AAA batteries also work fine but these are not included). I've to admitt that some parts like the two Light bases (upper and lower part of the display) felt and looked pretty cheap due to the type of plastic used, its a kind of hard plastic that feels as if its easy to break or get damaged.

Assembling;

Like mentioned above this almost speaks for itself since its plug and play. You only have to keep in mind and check if the power supply of the battery option is switched into the OFF mode before placing batteries and plugging in the little lights into the right positions. Good think is that the front panel of the case can be easily placed and removed so this is something you don't have to bother about when you'd like to re-arrange some figs that are displayed in this Light House. Only minus I've found for the assembling part is that those vertical transparent tubes (so called crystal columns), which are there to hold the shelfs, a long sticker is included to cover these up with white on one side so they become less translucent when the light is turned on. Problem with this is that the stickers hold well but the moment you'd like to place the adjustable handlers to this, you've to move these along the crystal columns, the sticker gets damaged pretty easily which makes it almost impossible to get this done properly. It might work with soap but I decided to remove this right aways since the hight of the platforms or shelves will be adjusted once in a while depending on the figures in it so this can only cause more problems. For the rest things worked pretty smooth and easy.

Looks;

After feeling the materials, mentioned above, I was a little worried about the looks when it was put together but all the lines and edges that you don't like to see are all turned and placed on the back so in the end the outcome if AWESOME and its just as clean and sterile looking as I had hoped for. Only minor here is the mirror which in my opinion makes it all a little to much at least for the Beastformers I placed in it but of course this can be easily solved by turning the mirror side backwards because the back of the mirror is a clean white panel doing justice to the rest of the looks at least if you like the clean and sterile look of the whole. For others the mirror might be an awesome addition. The 4 little lights (two in the top and two on the floor) rotate in any direction which makes it very easy to adjust the lightning perfectly. At the moment its getting dark and I only had 3x AAA available so the picture is only showing the light from the bottom two lights but as you can see these are doing pretty well and with adding the two top ones you've a very nice display also in the evening or at night so this is a major plus.

Usage;

To me it feels like its the prefect display for minfigs, including the Beastformers, since everything works easily and smooth and due to the easy assembling system this Light House is also ideal to use at Toy Shows or other events because its easy to assemble and disassemble and it doesn't take a lot of storage space. For the lights a little rub-like or swipe like system is included in the front bar of the upper and lower light bases and this is working fine eventhough it feels a little strange to swipe over a piece of plastic. You might have to get a little feeling with it but its a great addition and little gimmick which is excluding the need for a button or something that's a distortion to the view of the complete display. Like mentioned before the front panel is also easy to handle and remove so that is a big plus as well. When it comes to usage there's nothing to complain IMHO since everything is working more than fine and thanks to the little gimmick included for turning the lights on or off its even more than that.

Conclusion;

Overall I've to say its indeed as good as it looks on the pictures and I think that's the biggest compliment you can give. If your looking for a nice clean/sterile Japanese looking, eventhough its made in China, display this is a serious option to consider. There's no real glass included and the materials overall might feel a little cheap but in the end this also makes the display very lightweight and easy to handle and like I said it doesn't effect any of its looks. The only negative point found are those stickers for the crystal columns but that's an issue I can live with.

Score;  **** (4/5 stars)

Have been adding 3 extra AAA batteries today so the top lighting was also able to shine ;)

Looking pretty damn good IMHO in the dark;

And another minus might be the absence of a remote control which would've been handy LOL
