No freaking WAY! I am definitely getting one of these, for the keshis alone! I wonder what kind of plastic they will be?

QUOTE (Czarcher @ Dec 4 2007, 01:47 PM) A few questions you may or may not be able to answer..... -How much will it cost? -When is it going to be released? -Where can I get one? -Will it be dubbed/subtitled? 1050 yen (about $1000) Next December Japan (ne of the bidding services can buy one for you) Probably not. They are Japanese region DVDs as well. Won't work in a US player.

Man! That's just Freaking Awesome!!! Why the DEVIL does it have to be $1000 bucks????!!! I mean....$100 bucks for the DVD set even $175 would be reasonable. Then 418 Reissued figs? Come on at the most $.50 cents each would be a profit. So $209 for them. $400 would be a better price. Although I still couldn't afford it. So I guess it doesn't matter. I want one....

QUOTE (ironmask @ Dec 4 2007, 02:47 PM) $1,000?! That's pretty damned steep! Actually, that is pretty damned cheap for what you are getting. The DVDs, by themselves are $100 per set (2 discs). There are 17 sets (12 regular series, 4 final battle and 1 movie). This contains 16 f the sets, so $1600 worth of DVDs, and a full set of regular series re-issue keshi. So at $1000, that is quite a bargain. Yes, DVD sets in Japan are outrageous, but for what you are getting here, the keshi alone are worth the money!

This throws a HUGE wrench into the broken/damaged mold theory.

Perhaps this is an opportune time to try once more to get info about the molds and molding process from Bandai.
Also, I'm very anxious to see how part 21 Satan Cross and his legs are arranged. (Now, having said that, I'm wondering how they are arranged in the Perfect Collection... are they attached or not? Arforbes?)

I'm more inclined to think these are recasts of the actual figures. Which may be the reason the set costs so much. Especially if the research team had to buy each of them. Or at least get some of the Reissues to reissue. If memory serves me right, Didn't veers determine that Bandai no longer had the original molds? Or am I thinking wrong? Can't really remember. Also the Perfect Collection only goes up to part 13 soups.

Also the Perfect Collection only goes up to part 13 soups. The set costs so much because of the DVDs. In Japan, a 2 DVD Kinnikuman G1 set costs roughly $100. The full set costs $1700 or so. In this set, the keshi are pretty much a give away to buy the DVD set all at once. There are also rumors of them re-releasing them in capsules in vending machines too. As far as them being re-molds of the actual keshi themselves, didn't someone mention prior that injection molded stuff shrinks a bit? If so, then these figures will be smaller.

So who can and for sure will get one of these?
Also I would LOVE to get the figures if they resell them in capsules again! The past number of years have truly been Kinnikuman heaven in Japan hasn't it! I'd even be willing to say it rivals DBZ. It's too bad we can't get anyone to market the old show in the states.

I imagine complete sets, individual figures, and capsuled figures will be showing up on YHJ and Toy Zipangu.
Part 13, eh? Then I'm even more more curious to see what Mr. Cross looks like in the rerelease! (You know, the oysters were curious too.)

If so, then these figures will be smaller. When Bandia rereleased 15 original Ultraman sculpts for the American toy line Canfull of Monsters as a precursor to MUSCLE in 1979, the new figures were all slightly smaller than the originals.

Also,
If anyone is wanting to order a set, I can pre-order one for you.
What it will take is a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of $200. Non-refundable because I really don't want to get stuck with any of box sets that no one pays for. So, if you flake, you lose $200.
I will pre-order the item, and when it arrives in January of 2009, you will then have 90 days to pay the remainder of the cost which will be my actual cost (I will know this when they bill my credit card next December) plus $150. So, if the box sets arrive and cost me $800 each, then you will have 90 days to pay the $750 ($800 cost - $200 deposit + $150 fee).
All in all, if my cost is $800, then you will get a set for $950.
Let me know if and when you are interested. Not sure how long the pre-order price is good for.
