I'm almost certain that this is a non-U.S. figure, a custom , or fake, but here it is nevertheless.

buyer beware! seller is also selling a custom red satans cross. this magenta claw is more than likely a custom.

EDIT: seems pretty shifty to me, not mentioning it's a custom if in fact it is.

It's most likely a custom, like dankingery said. The seller had a Magenta #3 for sale about 6 or 7 days ago, and that was a custom too.

It is either a Pink keshi OR a custom Magenta.

It is NOT a legit Magenta M.U.S.C.L.E.

That doesnt even look the right color to be a keshi though. Definately not a muscle. I'm guessing dye job, a bad one.

Exactly what I thought. It looked a little too hot pink to be a magents M.U.S.C.L.E.

It is his account, I tried to make an opening bid on his SD battle beasts up for sale,

Check out this post last month from DiplomatX.

He was claiming he found a Magenta Claw, but was waiting to prove it. If it was legit, he would post it here. It seems he's going the Alex route with this auction – quietly standing by and hoping to snag a sucker.

Greed is a powerful motivator.

EDIT – As a side note, he's been on the board within the last 30 minutes. My guess is that he's watching this thread and hoping people don't realize what he is doing. Just my 2 cents.

Either a GB Custom, a nice dye job or the first ever legit Magenta Claw!

Auction claims that all are legit M.U.S.C.L.E.s, however a few are definitely keshi, so there is an issue there.

Diplomatx, what's the scoop man. Being vague only makes the auction look shady.

If it IS legit, it is worth HUGE amounts of scratch, and should be listed by itself as the 1st discovered M.U.S.C.L.E. #153 in Magenta. If legit, I can easily see this thing topping $2000+$3000.

If a seller has a "rare" piece prominently placed in an auction without the piece being identified -- especially after potential buyers have inquired about the piece -- it's a very safe bet that the auction is bogus in some way.

lets see not claim it to be real and get 100 at the most for the lot. or claim it and prove it and get 2000. on the other hand its almost worth the loss to not claim it and it turns out to be real, which would stir up huge commotion here on LRG. that situation could be the talk of the town for a life time.

on the other, other hand.... whoever gets it can cut it half to see if its pink on the inside

Has anyone sent the seller a message yet? just a thought, it will be interesting to see what he says this time. When i sent him a message about the magenta #3 a while back he was honest to say that it was a custom job. But this time he might not be so candid having read this topic, the $ signs might have flashed before his eyes.

Ok,
While Rick and I have done SEVERAL trades and I have sold SEVERAL custom figures to him, I have NEVER sold him one of the 4 Magenta claws I made. In fact, the 4 collectors that got those Magenta Claws could simply post here to verify that this one is NOT a magenta plastic custom of mine. Rick told me on the phone today that the only claw he has gotten from me was a gitd green claw. Rick told me on the phone today that this claw was obtained in a YHJ lot, it is bendable (unlike mine...UNLESS heated), and he has checked it to see if it was a paint job by scratching it w/ his nail to see if any paint was on it. I told him to try to soak it in super hot water w/ dish soap, then scrub it w/ a toothbrush to see if their is any paint on it and that would lift or remove any paint. Something I didn't mention, is that he could also heat up the figure w/ a hair dryer then bend the fingers around and IF there was a layer of paint on it the paint would buckle and wrinkle up. I told him today that if it is REAL, then it would be $$$ and if it is in anyway fake...he would most likely be banned from here in a heartbeat. :(

As far as dye jobs, I have dyed some FOP for fun to see what effect the dye would have on paint and plastic and to be real honest, RIT dyes in my experimenting are unpredictable based on amount of dye, color of the dye, length of time in the dye, heat of the dye, plastic type of the fig., paint job on the fig., etc... If it is a dye job it is damn good one.

Not sure what else I can add...

Also, a clear close up photo of the bottom of the claw would show whether or not it was one of my customs...because my customs do NOT have a seam line on the bottom like the real deal.

That would have been me. I made a complete set of all 5 countries' Xars when I was going through my divorce. I sold them on Ebay as customs in a complete set to Dark Clown (I think). They were NOT gold chrome paint, but, a slightly more matte gold. I painted the colors on the dots a little off as well. Oh, but, you meant painted FOP not XARS right?

There is nothing that would get me in a bunch more than someone trying to pass off my customs as the real deal and if I ever see that or anyone else reports that and it is founded, then I for one would expect them BANNED IMMEDIATELY!!! Not to mention, I would never knowingly make customs for them again. ;)

fear the wrath of the godbeast.

i for one am getting tired of the drama from all these shady auctions lately. when did toy collecting become such a cut throat hobby. why someone feels the need to covertly sell stuph of questionable origin or falsify info in dummy accounts or shill bid is beyond me. i hope this is a legit magenta 153. i really do. but the silence speaks volumes.

i don't know, i think the godbeast is completely right. any member dealing in a manner deemed unbecoming by the community doesn't really belong in this community. i still feel we should all be helping each other out as much as we possibly can. if i've got something someone needs and it's an extra of mine i don't see why i can't just give it to them. it's not like i'm going to miss a mortgage payment because of $3. bleh. i'm going to shut up now. i'll be reading the fun posts if anyone needs me.
