My buddy and I had a conversation about this a while ago.  How there were so many inappropriate movies with toy tie ins. But watching the clips of the old commercials just makes me wish some of those play sets existed.

Not a "toy aimed at kids" themed movie, but- I can't help but see the CastleGreySkull everytime I watch Silent Night Deadly Night.  Bunch of cool toys in that movie.

They gloss over the fact that most of those movies didn't directly spawn the toys the video cites though.

In most cases it went: Movie--->Toned down cartoon--->Toys

I would argue that for the most part, the toys wouldn't have happened without the inbetween stage of the decidedly not R-rated cartoons.

Thank you

Cool topic, but does seem a little skewed.

For instance, well before I ever watched Conan with good ole Arnold I had TONS Conan paperbacks, Robert Howard  through Robert Jordan and everything in between. Also a hugely successful comic book line I collected.  Savage Sword of Conan WAS AMAZING and it predated the movie by almost a decade I believe.

And just at first glance, I would put Starship Troopers higher than 10. All the movies are violent and gory but ST also had some seriously excellent shower scenes if I recall! :D

Check out my want list: http://www.littlerub...howtopic=269336

I am always looking for more Robin Mask #214, Sunshine, Announcer, Claw, and Parthenon - MUSCLE or KESHI of any type!
