Q. What are the rare figures in the original first generation M.U.S.C.L.E. line of figures?


A. While none of the figures on the poster should really be considered "rare" there are a few that are more popular with collectors and some that are harder to find.
Satan Cross is a muscle which never appeared on the poster, many speculate he was part of a "test run" which was put out some time after the poster was made. Black Hole Sunshine is a figure which is similar to one of the regular sunshine sculpts (#3) except he has a hole through his sun insignia which comes with a plug to fill it in. Spinning Head Ashuraman is similar to a regular ashuraman but his head is seperate and can rotate in order to display one of 3 faces. Only 3 or 4 of each of these are known to exist except for Satan Cross, of which many have been found. Scroll down for bios on each individual figure.

Satan Cross was thought of as rare for a long time, but has been proven to be not any harder to acquire than any of the other hard to find MUSCLE's that are on the poster, such as 195 or 189.
He is not rare, but as of late, he still commands a small premium.
His second half has never been seen, and it is doubtful that it exists, as it is missing in all packaged instances of him.

Spinning Head AshuraMan turned up on eBay in 2001. He was completely unknown to the M.U.S.C.L.E. community at that time. His head is removeable and spins 360 degrees.

Black Hole Sunshine turned up in 2001 also. He was found in a medium sized lot. The first one found was missing his chest insert. recently though, the second instance of him had been found on eBay, chest insert intact and still attached. The seller edited the auction prior to close, to make a private sale for the figure.

Drunken Master is one of the rarest of all M.U.S.C.L.E.s so far, with only one known to exist. The owner won him in a large lot off of eBay, and was surprised to find him. Until DM, all super rares had come from the Kinnikuman Part 21 line of sculpts. This leaves alot of speculation as to what other limited sculpts ther may be lurking out there.
