That's nuts. Retroband should be able to check the shipping addresses on his orders for Harrison, Michigan.

What a piece of shit.
What were these retailing for? You said Retro was trying to respect your prices, so I'm assuming not anywhere in the neighbourhood of this.

That's the thing. The toys will ship out tuesday because of the holiday so no one has any yet. Hell the header cards are still in the mail on the way to Retroband so whoever is selling this one literally doesn't even have it yet.
We are going to see if the seller is easily identified. Maybe like Iwao said they are in Harrison. Would be nice to cancel the sale and let someone who likes toys grab one instead.

Can it be pointed out to Ebay that it's impossible for the seller to have the figure to sell? I mean he/she has a rep of over 1400. You'd think that they would like to keep that account.
My first initial thought was, "wow already?".

Also asking 20.00 in shipping. Hope he gets cancer in his dick.

What would be hilarious is to have someone purchase it from eBay but cancel their Retroband order. That way they don't have a $800+ item to ship out. Certainly enough for a bad feedback. Hardly enough for someone with this type of behavior. That's shifty right there. Sorry dude.
This. This is what needs to happen.

I don't see why anyone isn't reporting the sale to Ebay for being fraudulent. There is no way the seller has the figure. I think it would be pretty easy for anyone at Retroband to show that none of the figures have shipped yet.
If there's a time to report it, it's now. It'll be to late once the seller has the figure in hand.

It probably falls under the same way people can do "pre-order" auctions on Ebay.
Posted 29 May 2016 - 01:15 PM
Well then I hope that Retroband finds out who it is and cancels the their order. Then this shit seller will get nothing.

Might not, they aren't saying that it's a pre-order and are giving every impression that they have the figure in stock and ready to ship. It's false advertising and misleading.
If you look at their other listings, they all have the items pictured on a bed or table. The entire listing is questionable compared to their other auctions.
Their Venture Bros LP listing is also a joke, since you can order it for 13(CD) or 18(Vinyl) directly from the artist.

Well the seller did just change the description in the listing...
"!!!!!NEED MONEY FOR HOSPITAL BILLS!!!!!"

Buying figures would be one of the last things on my mind if I needed to pay hospital bills.
I was more than sure it was somebody from here. Where else did you advertise the release of the figure? @PlasticSoul

I doubt it was someone here. The auction itself was pointed out on instagram and discussed by the toy producer and the painter so that's easily 25 thousand people who could have seen it right there. A lot of people have been taking about it and trying to figure out who it is so the seller I'm sure has lots of questions being asked through ebay. The actual sale of the toys was advertised on all 5 main toy news sites not including man-e-toys which won't ever share anything I do anyway. And the need money for medical bills excuse is really common for vinyl flippers.

True, I've seen so many creeps on Ebay and Facebook using the medical bills excuse.

Yeah it's really common.
Really though if anyone buys my stuff is trade or sell or whatever it's no big deal. That's part of collecting but if you are selling something for a ridiculous markup before you even get it in the mail that is kind of insulting.

Were you able to figure out who the buyer was and cancel their order? I certainly hope so. If you would rather not say I understand that too. People like this just really piss me off. I see it manifest itself in many ways.
Another that really irks me is sporting events. A couple teams I really like commonly sell out. The cheapest ticket for one of them is $65 and scalpers (and other fans for that matter) buy them up months in advance and jack the prices up to $300 or more. Season ticket holders get first dibs on more tickets and will purchase them for the sole purpose of reselling at 4-5x the cost. The rest will get swooped up by scalpers who sit at the box office waiting for it to open and nab up as many as they can. Of course this all happens while the average person is actually working. It prevents a lot of people from being able to go to games. Really shitee.
That order has not been shipped yet and I am hoping it goes to someone else instead. There was only one buyer in that state so I think it's the same person. In the end it's up to the painter who also sold and is shipping all the Jaws Tugs but I let him know how I felt about it and that I would prefer someone else get a shot at that particular toy. His decision though.
