I've noticed a few of these in some of you guy's mixed lot/unidentified toy photos, and a user named Ham Salad on ghostbusters.net was nice enough to photograph every single sculpt, so here are his pictures and some info:

Posted Image

The purple ecto-plazm included one random figure from this assortment, each in one of the five possible colors shown here. The large-armed ghost is actually sculpted so that it can hang off the edge of the can.

Posted Image

Yellow plazm was labeled "class 3 full-floating torso ghosts" - these only came in blue, and were the only figures in this series to be made of soft rubber instead of hard plastic. The one on the far left was the most bizarre; it was hollow underneath with finely-sculpted teeth in both halves of the body. He's one big mouth, stuck open in this odd position.

Posted Image

Blue slime was marked "Class 7 Skullful Manifestations," which came only in red. I'm not sure it was the intent, but they

Posted Image

Red slime boasted a "class 9 come to your senses ghost" in either yellow or orange.

The "classes" are pretty funny considering that Gozer, the evil god from the first film, was described as class 7. Apparently those orange noses could unmake reality as we know it.

Sadly I have only four sculpts of these, always on the lookout for more :)

my fiancee saw this thread whilst walking past for some reason, and he said 'oh hey, I had some of those as a kid. I liked the slime more than the monsters'.

He keeps remembering he *had* toys I *want* but never has the goods to show for it! What a jerk, eh?

Anyway, these are pretty damn cool, and I think I may just have to scour ebay for them. I loved ghost busters.

"hey cool! does the pole still work?!"

That is an absolutely brilliant idea - you're a genius.

Problem is he'll claim he's already paid it. We share money, so what I spend on toys comes out of both our pockets, and whilst I don't spend as much on toys for me as he spends on videogames that I would never play, he'd still see it as 'dowry paid'.

He's always trying to trick me out of getting toys. 'No, it's too expensive and we can't afford it, no, it's not cool enough, no, it's broken and you shouldn't buy it' and worst of all 'you can only buy it if I get to open it'.

But hey, he likes ghost busters too, so I can probably make him agree to getting some of these delicious little ghosts

that is by far the meanest and cruelest thing i have ever heard. my wife tries to pull that crap. i don't know why that bothers me. it's not like i want to play with the packaging. i guess there's something special about playing with that untouched virgin toy.

Hehe, my wife usually ends up opening a percentage of whatever i bring home from a toy run. I think everyone really likes opening toys. Except Star Wars collectors. :D

On the subject of these ghosts...i could swear i have one of the skull ones around here in another color. The sculpt on the right of that pic looks like something i ran across a few weeks ago while organizing the toy room, and i threw it in with some random accessories not knowing it was a Ghostbusters toy. I'm still trying to track it back down.

I actually couldn't bear the sight of fake slime as a kid, it just made me gag...but I HAD to have these ghosts, so I'd make my parents open the cans while we were in the toy store, dig around to find out which ghost it was while I held my eyes shut, purchase it, wash off the figure for me and dispose of the rest. :D

For some reason the one with the tadpole-like body and the big hands was the one I wanted the most, but never found. Nowadays my favorite is the set of yellow eyeballs, which I have a couple of.

I don't know why opening toys is so good either - I guess it's like unwrapping a present or something. It's only fun to unwrap them, not to watch someone unwrap it and then give you the item inside. If I had no arms or legs, damnit, I'd open presents with my teeth! Screw letting anyone else steal my fun!

I guess it's also a sort of mark of ownership. When we got our first two plasma dragons he opened boulder and I opened gorgonaw, and he still refers to boulder as if it were his even though they were bought for me.

...my wife usually ends up opening a percentage of whatever i bring home from a toy run...

If I buy several toys then I let him open half of them, but usually it's just one, and if it's just one I have to open it, and if it's just one and he doesn't want me to buy it he'll say 'I get to open it'.

I worked out a way around it though. I wait until we get home and he forgot we bought the toy, then I hide somewhere and open it, and he doesn't remember he wanted to open it :D

Whenever I open anything now, I take a razor blade and very carefully open the package so it displays as almost mint, but I can slide the toy out of the package and, well, pose it or whatever.

Our glorious Milky Way is a tiny, infinitesimal speck of sand in this vast, incomprehensible universe. And somewhere in that Milky Way is our own solar system, less than one billionth of that speck of sand that is the Milky Way. And then there is our planet Earth, one hundred trillionth of that one billionth of that one speck of sand. And on this planet Earth there is DEV-0, an insignificant blemish with a lifespan too short to measure when placed in infinite time.

And you are here, with them, as so many specks of sand.

Oh damn I used to have those eyes in the last photo but never realised it was a ghostbusters toy, I'm pretty sure I just threw them away. :wallbash:
