Wow. THOSE were some NICE figures!
I can't believe they didn't come to the United States. I would've eaten some of those guys up!
(but why don't these companies hire people like James Ernest to make the games that the figures are used for PLAYABLE?)

Our glorious Milky Way is a tiny, infinitesimal speck of sand in this vast, incomprehensible universe. And somewhere in that Milky Way is our own solar system, less than one billionth of that speck of sand that is the Milky Way. And then there is our planet Earth, one hundred trillionth of that one billionth of that one speck of sand. And on this planet Earth there is DEV-0, an insignificant blemish with a lifespan too short to measure when placed in infinite time.
And you are here, with them, as so many specks of sand.

I would like to note that on the back of my series 2 AU packaging (which is actually lisenced to Canada for some reason, are the UK and US ones lisenced to canada too? My s1 stuff has the same lisencing info) anyway, on the back there are NO translucent figures. None at all.
I'll give you this strawberry if you keep it a secret.

thanks for the comments guys
I was hoping that the prototypes would result in some discussion! Truman/Brojo, I think you're right, the DTC trade stand does seem to have the proto Griffin too! And the other figure does indeed look like Haniver. I wonder what happened to those figures...
Although, like Airot, my AUS G2 S2 packaging shows both the Ghost & Poltergeist fully painted the figures inside are both translucent. The Poltergeist is like an off-clear if that makes sense and the Ghost is a pale translucent blue with thin white/blue paint applied on top. If you hold it up to the sun the light shines through.

Kind of odd that they put Catoblepas in with the "winged" monsters even though he has no wings in that sculpt.
Odder still that they gave him wings in the original line, since I've never seen another depiction with them!
