Okay so I spotted Gormiti at Toys R Us today, Friday Feb. 6th 2009. I think I first spotted Gormiti at Target around Jan. 11th. Here's what Toys R Us has:
Two packs @ $5.99 (I saw figures from case 2 only)
Four packs @ (oops didn't check for sure on these)
Starter Set @ $17.99
Murena Den @ $15.99 This comes with Hammer the Predator

I got the last couple of twopacks I needed and the playset. With Walmart raising prices on Star Wars, G.I.Joe, and Transformers, I figured I'd get this first run out of the way in case prices go up.

I was in my local Toys R Us here in the UK, and noticed they had the 4-packs (UK series 1) half price!

Now they're £2.49 down from £4.99, which I think is really good value. I'm going to go back tomorrow with a list of figures I need from series 1 and try to complete my set.

UK people: consider yourselves alerted to a bargain :)

Well, I got my Murena Den today, and something just occured to me. Due to the screws, spring, and hollow plastic, YOU CAN'T TAKE IT UNDER WATER!

This is an oversight.

Well, think about it. Alt color volcano and water figures are meant to be submersed, as well as Foresta Infuocata. Thus, making the giant eel head of doom non-submersible is a strange, strange oversight!

IS there any particular gormiti that if I saw exposed in a pack I should get as an investment or for trade? I really know very little about these but would always look for the short pack or mispaint or whatever just cause I like too. Is there such a figure etc?

What a horrible question.

Thankfully, the answer is no.

Thankfully is right. I have zero knowledge about them and didn't know thanks for answering. The only time I buy outside my hobbies is when somethings hot and can be used for trade.

Wow, this conversation could go downhill pretty fast.

Just as an FYI, I have not seen these at any TRU or Target in the Detroit area.

I think we've been even luckier in the UK lately. 1st Series 4-packs have been on sale here for £1.99, and the Murena Den/Peak of the Eagle playsets have been £3.99 each, all at Home Bargains. I now have hundreds of the little buggers which I'm flogging on eBay as complete or near-complete sets of 42 Gormiti ;)
