On my first night in Tokyo, I visited the Pop-Up Shonen Jump bar in Shinjuku, which, at the time was themed for Kinnikuman's 40th Anniversary.

The bar is only supposed to be open for a year, so it closes in July.

none of my photos came out well, but a friend of mine (Retro World Korea) went the week before my visit, and kindly shared his photos, so photo credit goes to him.

There was a gyudon dish shaped like Kinnikuman's head, but I didn't actually eat there because I had no reservation.

Hey did have Gashapon machines in the restaurant, and a small merch section (nothing I wanted from the merch section, but I did buy plenty of the Gacha).

I'm not a muscle collector but that display case is pretty sweet.

The figures were the reissues from the DVD set.

Yeah I bet a display unit similar to that one would cost a few quid.

Gonna take some time & skill for sure but if you can do it then i take my hat off. That does look a high end one, I like the black effect with the led lights & all those shelves.

Well, if I were gonna do it, I'd make it out of acrylic, and it would have a cubicle for each figure. I'd then attach LEDs around the perimeter to illuminate it.

Acrylic would be smart but I've never seen the seperate compartments for each figure idea done before.

Somebody on fb did one like that out of wood and it looked great. It basically copied the poster as far as arrangement of the compartments.

Cool, I think putting effort into displaying is one of the best parts of the hobby.

Someone posted one on here similar to the poster too. Could even be the same person. The one in Tokyo should have the original Keshi. Not some re-issue figures. Place loos really nice though. Almost high end. Like you need to dress up a bit to be there.

Trust me, I looked like hell when I went. I was fresh from a 13 hour flight!

as for the keshi, I agree, but they did have a library of vintage Jump issues (including Kinnikuman's first appearance - a $300 book) and we were free to browse. (Well, I didn't have a reservation so my time was brief). So, while the keshi weren't vintage, the comics were.
