I bought this at a Con this weekend for $8, just because I remember having him and loving him as a kid. I remember him being a deeper darker orange, and the pictures online seem to shower a more reddish orange. Is this a knockoff? or does the plastic commonly change color over the years? Or am I just remembering wrong/the light is different in the pictures...There is a Hasbro logo on the back.

I'd say it is genuine. The colors don't seem that much different, there might have been fading by sunlight or color variance by production batch.

Took a photo of my crab for the reference, I guess it's a bit more reddish but there's also color variation between torso and arms.

I expected a more knowledgeable BB collector to chime in sooner but there is a known, common Crab variant, nothing out of the ordinary. The deeper orange is indeed the common version, with this as the variant.

Thanks for everybody's response. After searching around, I did find other crabs with lighter orange colors, so I guess it's legit. I'm surprised though, because in some online lists, it only lists the lighter "pink" crab as a variant: Beastformers - Battle Beasts - Laser Beasts Price Guide and Checklist!

Geniune. Might be faded though. Beastformers should know.

BTW, that checklist is the older version of this one:

Was there a crab available with a chariot in North America? Seems I remember seeing one. The orange version might be the one from the chariot. Or I could be mistaken.
