Y/S * N * T - B
I recently got back into the Kinnikuman collectables and discovered a pair of figures I have never seen and have yet to identify.
I'm familiar with the classic kinkeshi 1.5 MUSCLE/Kinnikuman as well as the larger counterparts called deka. These 4"- 6" (maybe larger) deka figures are usually solid in color like the 1.5s and similarly have no articulation.
However, these two incomplete figures have arm articulation. Specifically, they have a soft peg at the shoulder, swivel at the biceps, and the elbow bends too. They stand at about 3.75" tall. Luckily one of the figures still had an arm to go off of.
I've searched lots all over ebay, mercari, and a few Japanese auction sites. Tried searching all sorts of descriptive variations that could possibly come up with even an image of these. The beginner's guide to collecting kinnikuman toy lines on LRG does not show them.
This is what is known so far:
- It came in a box set and featured only the princes from the Kinnikuman series - Kinnikuman (left), Soldier (right), Big Body, Zebra, Super Phoenix, and Mariposa.
- They are randomly assorted in Grey, Purple, or Flesh.
- They are difficult to complete
- The box sets are difficult to track down because there was a seemingly endless array of releases over the decades, and basic searches come up with a wave of different results.
- Kinnikuman Suguru (left) is wearing his "Scramble for the Throne" attire.
