Hello everyone,

I went digging through some old boxes in my parents basement the other day and unearthed my M.U.S.C.L.E figures from 40 years ago. I have a few hundred, so I decided to catalog them, and there is one I haven't been able to find. It's basically a red Bazookara/Bazoogara #158 (Like in the picture), but he's in a fighting side stance. His feet are pointed slightly to left, he has his right fist guarding his chin and his left fist out like in this photo of Sonny Liston. This figure came in an official M.U.S.C.L.E box set with a bunch of others, that my parents got me back in 1985, and he was always one of my favorite figures because of the boxer stance. The lighting is really bad where I am right now. I'll try to take a photo of the actual figure tomorrow and post it here. Since I can't find it anywhere I'm assuming it may have just been a manufacturers mistake, but it looks so much like an actual boxers stance I always thought that was by design.

The Bazookara pictured is the regular one, and not the one I'm describing.

Definitely post a pic. It may just be a figure that has been warped over the years, but you never know.

BTW, welcome to LRG!

Thanks.  Glad to be here.

Here is a picture of mine. This was the shape he was right out of the box back in 85', which is why I think maybe a manufacturers defect? He was one of my childhood favorites because of the "fighting stance" he's in, in the variant I have. I don't really like the normal version where he's just flexing.

Yeah, looks like his right arm got flattened against his body when he got pulled from his mold and was allowed to cool that way, maybe squashed by some machine. Neat unique piece, it's cool how it gives him some character!

Definitely looks to be a malformed figure. I'd recommend logging it with UofM as well, fantastic to see such a natural looking malformed figure.

Thanks for the reply!  I'm not sure what UofM is?  The only thing the google machine pulls up is University of Michigan, and I'm pretty sure that's not the reference.

Ah, that's too bad - I didn't know that UofM no longer existed. Nathan's MUSCLE Blog has a factory errors page though:
