Welcom to the 4th art challenge! The theme is open, the subject is the bad eggs bunch figure line. Since it is a more obscure line, we'll probably need some reference links. All mediums welcome.

Coincidentally, I'm looking for a cool image to use for my BEB archive splash page. If I think one of the final entries would look cool on the splash page of the archive, I'll offer the creator the following figures for the right to use their image.

Sorry, no BEBs... and it's just the figgies on the table, not the ones in the jars.

I'm using that Denier in a bootleg/custom Mr Lobo project right now! Some here might appreciate that project as it bootlegs & Frankenstein's some recognizable LRG lines....

Crap I hope I have time & a good idea to try & win this one myself & I'll donate the spiral zone figure as well

Well I had never really looked at these before. I gotta say that they're pretty cool.
I really like the OCTOEGG. He's pretty tough lookin. Anybody got one for sale? Do I need to post in 'needs'? Anyhow,I drew Mr. Octo here in the bathtub. :good:

edit: Ya,the pic size is pretty big. Can a mod maybe shrink it for me?

Nifty, I may have to try this one out, though I don't know much about these.

Thanks Doc ! >-<
Wish I knew how to scale down the pic though.

Looks great! I usually use The Gimp for one-off scaling.

Image -> Scale Image
You should use Sinc (Lanczos3) for Interpolation for the best quality

Then just File -> Save As to give it a new name. JPEG quality parameters I've have good luck with (under Advanced Options):
If you check Show Preview in Image Window you can see the estimated file size while you change options.
  • Quality: 94 is about the point of diminishing returns to get the best quality. Higher and the file size starts to shoot up without much gains in appearance.
  • Check Optimize
  • Check Progressive: smaller file sizes and good for web pages.
  • Check or Uncheck Save EXIF Data: EXIF data holds info from a digital camera such as time and date etc. It's up to you if you want the copy to have it. Including will increase the file size slightly. If the original has no exif data, then this has no effect.
  • Uncheck Save Thumbnail: embedded lo-res thumbnail, usually not needed and makes the file bigger.
  • Save XMP Data: same as for EXIF.
  • Smoothing: 0
  • Uncheck Use Restart Markers
  • Subsampling: I like 1x1, 1x1, 1x1 for best quality, but you can decrease file size a little if you change this.
  • DCT Method: Integer, best compatibility I believe

Here's a scaled down version of your image using the GIMP:

Hope this is helpful.

Here is my entry. (My first in any LRG contest).
I decided to do a mock up of what I though a series 2 Bad Eggz Bunch would look like.
I used noxious 80's toy lines like Garbage Pail Kids and Toxic Crusaders for inspiration, as well as Trash Bag Bunch.
Hope you guys dig it.

Thanks!

most impressive, ctupa. Welcome to the art challenges, as well.

My favorite part of your entry is the whole sunday comic feel. I would follow that series every week.
