The package arrived in Tokyo late last night, and is now out for delivery. Fingers crossed he will actually be around today to get it before the Muscle Summit - it is only 10am there, so..... ;)

The Eagle has landed folks!

According to my tracking number, the package was delivered shortly after 5PM Tokyo time on 10/29!

I am pretty sure he was out of the studio all day in preparation for the MUSCLE Summit, so he will probably not even know it is there until this weekend, or whenever he goes back :sheep:

At least we got it there on Kinniku day!

Ladies and gentlemen, a momentous twist in Kinnikuman and M.U.S.C.L.E. history has just occurred - M.U.S.C.L.E.s have now officially returned to meet their maker :o Like the prodigal son before them, they too have been welcomed back with loving arms

I just received confirmation from Shimada-sensei that he received the package :o :o :o

It arrived on the 29th, but he did not get to it until the 30th. At this point, all I can say is that he has expressed great appreciation and that it made him very happy. He just barely opened everything up, so hopefully additional info to come when he gets a free moment to communicate more. Yudetamago are doing another radio show tonight (Mizuki Nana's M World show) - gonna try and give it a listen once it is posted tomorrow :D

I will keep you posted :D :D

i can't help it, but this makes me smile. i just love the fact that the LRG community made such a selfless act and gave the creator of our favorite toy a gift like this. this is just another example of why i love this community. now i REALLY wish i could have given something. i can't wait to hear more. :o

If you have been following Shimada at all on Twitter at all over the past few days, he has posted some pretty powerful stuff. After the MUSCLE Summit, Yudetamago were inspired to take a pilgrimage back to Osaka to visit their humble beginnings. Basically he said that the real goal of this adventure was to get back in touch with their roots, and rediscover what was the original inspiration behind Kinnikuman.

The large government subsidized type apartment building that they both lived in when they met, is scheduled for demolition. They posted a few pics of the building, as well as the units they once lived in. This is the place where Kinnikuman was first imagined, and where their friendship was forged. The visit has been very emotional, and has brought back a flood of memories according to the posts.

Shimada said that out of all the exotic locations and foreign places they have visited, coming back to their humble start has been the most insightful and powerful.

They also really thanked their fans for their spirit and passion towards Kinnikuman, which made them want to get back to that place.

Our glorious Milky Way is a tiny, infinitesimal speck of sand in this vast, incomprehensible universe. And somewhere in that Milky Way is our own solar system, less than one billionth of that speck of sand that is the Milky Way. And then there is our planet Earth, one hundred trillionth of that one billionth of that one speck of sand. And on this planet Earth there is DEV-0, an insignificant blemish with a lifespan too short to measure when placed in infinite time.

And you are here, with them, as so many specks of sand.

:) I saw that earlier today as well. - He was in Osaka for over a week, and has been pretty busy but I have a feeling we will be seeing some more pics of the items we sent B)

Here is the post http://twitpic.com/35dkbb

Here is what he basically said: "アメリカのユデッキー、100tさんからいただいたマテル社キンケシ。なんかゴミ箱みたいな中には一転だよ。アメリカらしくてカッコいい!"

A couple of ways to translate, but I would say,

"I received some Mattel Kinkeshi items from some American "Yudekkii" and 100t-san! It looks like a trash can (on the outside) but inside is completely a different story (there are kinkeshi inside!) Very American and cool!"

Yudekkii is the term used to describe hardcore, dedicated Kinniku fans. Basically Yudekkii is to Kinnikuman, as Trekkie is to Star Trek, and say Whovian is to Doctor Who Fans.

So, the Yudekkii in this story are Jkaris, Soupie and Fuzz, and I am 100t (my Twitter ID). ;)

Apparently he thought the trash can idea was so cool that he could not resist opening it to see which keshi were inside. lol

a star trek fan is a trekkie only for star wars fans :D
teh "correct" is trakker, i believe :)

A Star Trek fan is a Trekkie, whilst a Star Trek: The Next Generation fan is referred to as a Trekker.

But back to the topic at hand, I am not surprised that he opened the ten pack, nor am I the least bit disappointed. I am sure that the figures inside are of much more interest to him than the "collectability" of an opened pack.

I can totally see why he opened them. He was sent a product containing characters that he created for a comic packaged in a funny little garbage can with English all over it and marked with "Yudetamago." It is the first time in his life that he is seeing it and he was admittingly excited to crack it open. Those little guys are now chillin on a shelf in Studio Egg - very cool!

He did not mention the smell, but I am sure he took note lol

Got some more pics to post soon.

I sent him a tweet in Japanese saying "Italian Bootleg Kinkeshi Exogini" with a link to the Exogini TV commercial - He was just retweeting what I sent him - basically he just forwarded what I said to his followers.

Well he retweeted the Exogini knowing they were boots...lol. He seemed to be amused by them but I seriously doubt he would embrace them like he has done with MUSCLE. Yudetamago were not even aware that Mattel was distributing their kinkeshi but they made royalties from the sales and their name was included in the copyright.

They were eventually looped in and happy with the product. The boots though, it is a form of flattery but not really sure exactly what he thinks.

I would also like to say, that I know that Shimada-sensei was impressed and excited about TGB's G1 customs page. He said that it made his head spin to think that there were fans so dedicated to to his creative vision. TGB pays tribute and gives nod to the creative vision of Yudetamago - I know for a fact that he is a fan of TGB!

Perhaps the only fan custom to grace the shelves of Studio Egg is TGBC White SC ;)

I think there is a huge difference between mass produced, factory boots and quality made fan customs, and smaller scale production of homage pieces.

At any rate, he got a kick out of the Exogini commercial! He never even knew they existed ;) Any other Kinkeshi repros links or vids I should send him?
