Hey Johnny:

That's coo, but they haven't done a new one in a while. I was hoping that someone would put out a copy in English (so that everyone can enjoy them). Sadly, nobody is looking at Kinnikuman for a manga based audience.

It would almost be faster for you to learn Japanese and read it yourself, than to wait for the other books to get translated (ha, ha).

Or you can live there for a couple years, and marry a cute little Japanese girl to read them to you, like I did Although I did not marry her just to translate my kinnikuman comics, it does come in handy ha ha.

doc more j, what were you doing in jolly old Nihon? Did you like it? How much nihongo did you pick up in? That is pretty darn tootin cool if you ask me.

I am in the Military and was stationed on Okinawa for a few years. To answer your questions, I loved Japan, I love Japanese people, they are the coolest, and I did pick up quite a bit of nihon-go. I took two Japanese language classes from the University of Maryland Asian division. Where I learned how to read, speak, and write most hiragana, and katagana (still working on kanji). Plus dated a few Japanese women (woohoo!!), then married one . Worked at a Japanese fire station where I was the only gaijin so I had to pick up a bunch etc... etc... etc... However since I have been back in the States for a couple years, I am extremely rusty on everything. I have made few trips up there since I have been back, been to Tokyo a couple times, spent a month on Kumamoto, visited Mt Fuji, and stayed a week in Shizuoka. I love it, I look forward to being stationed there again. Get this though, while I was over there, I never thought of Muscle, it wasn't until recently where I began collecting again. What an arse I am huh? Oh well, I will be going back soon.

Hey doc moore J... that is cool. I have noticed that a lot of these MUSCLE/kinnikuman fans in here have some kind of connection with Japan. My dad has done business in Japan for the past 13 years, so I have lived there with my parents off and on. A lot of my formative years were in Japan, so the culture has rubbed off on me a bit. I grew up with Japanese all around me, but I agree with you, that once you are away from it for awhile, it gets rusty. I studied Japanese all through college. Reading and writing hiragana is no problem, but kanji is the sticker. I had to learn 800 kanji to get my Japanese minor, but they are fading quick. Whenever I go to visit my wife's family in Tokyo, a lot of it comes back.
Fuji san is really a sight to see. That is cool that you have been there. I think that is so funny that you never though about MUSCLE in Japan. That just shows that you are serving our country well.... a real focused soldier.

If your going out to see FujiSan then Kamakura & Nara are the spots to hit! If you're an Ultraman fan like me, then there UltraLand by Kobe (if I remember correctly). I'm a huge fan of Castles so i went to Osaka & Kyoto to take lots of pics.

I think the Castles are sweet too, I hear Kyoto has the nicest. You should check out Kumamoto castle though, I think it is Japan's second coolest or popular if I am not mistaken. It is so cool, I spent a month in Kumamoto, and they have the castle all lit up at night, and you can see it from almost anywhere in the city because it is on the hillside. Very amazing indeed. It is known for its cool rock structured walls that were near impossible to breach. I have a ton of pics, maybe I will post some when I get home. As for Fuji, the day I went it was so cloudy and foggy that no matter how high I climbed all I could see was clouds 20 feet in front of me. I think I am going to camp out there next time.
