Is it Percy Jackson? I've never really looked at the card.
They have a mini line (ala Secret Saturday) that has some cool looking mythological creatures but they come with a seven plus dollar price tag. To much for one figure I want. I wonder if I'll still care when they hit clearance.

No I don't collect Secret Saturdays or Lightning Thief yet. The price tag is just to high. The cost is prohibitive for me when they don't fit in real well with my collection.
Currently I'm mainly buying Marvel Universe 3 3/4" line but I pick up the occasional piece that is just super cool.
Like you said they have some awesome cyrptids/mythological beasts included. Thats what caught my attention. Have you thought about posting a full review in the reviews section?
