They seem to be mini Madballs, and they're available from newsstands singly in foil packs, like Gormiti.
So far as I can gather, there are currently 10 different Madballs available.
Eye Sore, Scum Chum, Flea Bag, Racket Attack, Creep Frog, Deck Head, Spit Bull, spews Ooze, Brain Rot and Fang Thang:

I'm especially fond of the frog, the deep-sea angler, and the sabre-toothed tiger!

Now if the mini's were like $2 a foil bag in the trading card section of my local Target I might go for them... but they would probably be $3 each. My reasoning is based on the following:
When I was in Hungary I found a line by Giochi Preziosi in a Gatcha machine called "Filly". They were like tiny little "My Little Pony's" just different enough to be their own line. At the Gulliver's Toys in Hungary they had foil pack versions of the Filly's called "Filly Princess" that came with a trading card. The gatcha version was 300 Forint and the foil pack version was about 600 Forint. The Forint, the Hungarian currency, was at 181 Forint to $1US when I was there, so $1.66US from the Gatcha machine and $3.32US for the foil bag with trading card.
I wonder how big Giochi Preziosi was before Gormiti and if they are expanding now from the profits from Gormiti.

I try keep my eyes open for these here in Germany, somebody got me looking for them just a minute ago.
@LethalWhip: Giochi Preziosi is since the early 70ies or so the distributor for all kinds of toys for Spain, Italy and Portugal but gained quite some more countries up from the 90ies like Germany (working together with Simba), and most Playmates stuff had also Giochi preziosi printed on them. I remember the Cabbage batch kids being released here through them as well.
I think just that the Filly, Gormitti and some else are just right now the popular lines they made inhouse. I think they work also tight with the Panini sticker company which is a household brand that is distributing & publishing all kinds of Comics (Marvel/DC/Wildstorm/Top Cow/Image Comics f.e.) and Kids Magazines and Giochi bringing toys to newstands.

Spotted a vending machine selling mini madballs today in my local Tesco. Had to buy one. Think they are mini versions of the original 80's sculpts. Anyone else seen them.
could you post a pic of it?? that sounds cool!

Its going to cost a few quid to get a full set.
