eBay Auction

But the person has no feedback, and there's virtually no description in the auction. Could it be a scam, or a Kinkeshi?

Looks legit, but a new account with no feedback should make anyone wary.

I would ask for some closeup pics, and make sure you cross all the i's and dot all the t's when paying (Paypal) and make sure he ships insured with signature confirmation.

I would get a home tel and talk to him before hand as well, in case things go south. If so, if the Paypal dispute didn't work, you could give his info to his local Police dept for wire fraud.

no feedback makes my cringe. looking at the auction something seems kind of strange. i can't seem to place it. it's almost like they've taken the time to try and hide all the little triggers that set off our scam-o-meters. i feel like someone has cast an illusion spell on me. i know there's something wrong here, but i can't see it. this must be what a crime scene looks like when the c.s.i. guy is the murderer.

I emailed him to see if it was legit and if he was legit and here's the response. Take it for what it's worth.

Hello, yes I'm 100% positive that it is Muscle figure, and yes this is my first time to ebay, I am getting started because my uncle with galena53 enjoys what he is doing, and yes I will ship it to Canada.
Thanks Smitty

Well the fact that the auction has not been closed out yet (due to early buy out) is what is sort of suspicious to me. Makes me think its just another duplicate account of a certain banned member. However, the low starting bid opposes my first arguement knowing that certain member thinks all rares are worth $1000. The member is only like 5 days old, no feedback, bid with caution. It looks to be legit though and I would possibly bid on it myself if I didn't have my suspicions. Its sad that a guy that got banned still plagues this board and the muscle community.

isn't that how the re-issue figures are marked accompanied with the four dots and china? photos are so overexposed that you can't see the mark. i'd ask for a closeup pic of the back that you can actually see the trademarks in.

theres two back shots, and they are of two different figures. one has no markings on its back at all and the other has a star on it along with a couple letters i couldnt make out. i cropped them, zoomed in, and then adjusted some sharpness and contrast and a few other things.

I saw that too. I just seems odd that they knew to breakout that figure. The also have the Battle Beasts clearly listed. I have a feeling that it is real, but I have a very bad feeling about the seller.

If nothing else, this seller has probably had several accounts over time.

This doesn't have Gollum's stink on it. In fact, I wish his name didn't come up so much. It would be nice to try and move past him.

But something does stink with this auction. Just the lack of responses from peoples doesn't bode well for the seller/auction.

On the flipside, maybe someone will gamble and have it payoff. I'd rather spend less money on a TGB figure.

I wouldn't trade my TGB custom works of art for a real one. There are toys and there is art, Marty does a little of both. I put more value into the art he has created for me than the rest of my collection combined. If you don't own any you just don't get it.

Best,
chris

I don't think that means anything anymore. It's so easy and quick to find out about the super rares, M.U.S.C.L.E in general, battle beasts and some others with a simple search, that even those with no knowledge of the figures can figure out what they are, what they're worth & which are more desirable.

i agree completly with gilgar. its happened with boglins too. a year ago slime boglins would be left in with lots. now sellers are taking them out and selleng them as special and rare, some are even trying it with silver cheifs!
