While I'm not totally sold it is a MUSCLE, this seems like a weird option (If I understand you correctly).Yes, I also think it could be a re-release Kinkeshi. You can see that the re-release/29th Anniversary figures are quite glossy:
Someone would have to know MUSCLE figures well enough to buy the insanely exspensive set, then go to a 3rd party to sell it - hoping that someone would mistake the figure for a SR and get huge bids thrown around. I'm not saying someone wouldn't try that, but it seems like a lot of work for possibly no return. Let's face it, if it's not a MUSCLE then the buyer will file a claim and get their money back.

Some of the 29th Anniversary figures can be purchased in vending machines, two at a time. That is, you don't have to buy all 400+. However, I'm not sure that the pretzel guy is one of the figures available in the smaller sets.Someone would have to know MUSCLE figures well enough to buy the insanely exspensive set, then go to a 3rd party to sell it - hoping that someone would mistake the figure for a SR and get huge bids thrown around. 1st Series

2nd Series
Also, I wasn't asserting that the figure being a re-issue would necessarily mean the auction was a scam. I was thinking more along the lines of it being a mistake. I mean, at this point, there are several versions of MUSCLE-sculpt kinkeshi out there floating around. I've kinda been waiting for MUSCLE collectors to mistake an Anniversary re-release for a MUSCLE SR.
However, I would have to agree that in this instance, it doesn't seem to be the case.
(Incidentally, look how pink the Buffaloman sculpt is in the 2nd series. That looks like a MUSCLE.)

Non-MUSCLE SculptsIs there such a sculpt in the Japanese Kinkeshi line? If not, wouldn't that make it more likely that it was from another line (or bootleg of such) than an actual MUSCLE ?

To my knowledge he is not part of the new re-released figs in capsules, all the ones I have and have seen are from the tag team matches. Also, those capsule re-releases are easy to tell apart from muscles.

no biggie. some people seem to assume that everyone can spend hours going over back archives and studying figure galleries and memorizing every little detail of toy lines. some people need to remember that this is just a hobby and to chill out.

The coloring, gloss and size is too close to be one of the 29th anniversary re-issues.Since nobody actually bothered to check...

Says who? I just couldn't navigate the official page and didn't think to check eBay.Since nobody actually bothered to check...
Because all those things are too difficult to tell just be looking at the above pictures, and, well, because I'm a nerd:The coloring, gloss and size is too close to be one of the 29th anniversary re-issues.

Now I'm convinced it's not a 29th Anniversary fig.
