We're looking for as much information as possible about the SHA. Only one person can buy it, but all of us can help to solve the Super Rare mysteries. For instance, where did you leave when you got it?

Veers has trouble with the English language sometimes...he meant, "Where did you LIVE when you got it?"Have you even read any of the posts?

One word for THE GOD BEAST... - AWESOME!
I swung on over to your site, and I must say that your work is very Impressive!!
As far as the question goes, I was born and raised in Beautiful "Smoggy" California. I was living in Glendale to be exact. Its a little ironic, because my wife & I still live in Glendale today.. "Different house though" LoL

At any rate, Glendale blows up the Buffalo/Niagara Falls theory.

Do you have any answers for these questions? Thanks.Do you know anything about the kid you got it from, i.e. did his dad deal with toys, Mattel, large women, are toy stores?
Did the SHA come in a blister pack or in a MUSCLE Garbage Can?
Were the two pieces ever attached?

The reason these questions are important, jaxon, are because SHA has never been found in official MUSCLE packaging, unlike SC.Do you know anything about the kid you got it from, i.e. did his dad deal with toys, Mattel, large women, or toy stores?
Did the SHA come in a blister pack or in a MUSCLE Garbage Can?
Were the two pieces ever attached?
There is lots of speculation as to why this might be*. Some of us are curious about SHA's origins. If you can answer any of the above questions, that'd be great!
*For instance, one theory is that SHA was only sold in Canada.

Not necessarily, the kid he traded with could have moved from that area. For instance, where did you leave when you got it?
God Damn It.

That's alright, I already have one. But that effs with the theory that the Super Rares might have originated from Canada as all of them, until now, have popped up in the North, Northeast areas of the U.S.Ha, ha, that's correct. All this time it was right under your nose!California?

But then again, it could have travelled.

Anyway, I dont think this was mentioned before, but I'll be 31 next March. Just to give you an idea of how long ago all of this really was. The (SHA) was definitely loose and not in any Bin or Pack. I got it just the way you see it in the photos on the auction page.
*** If any of you live in California, hit me up cause I'd really like to put this "authenticity" thing to rest, and I'd be more than happy to meet up with any of you to do just that. Let me know.
Thanks,
Dave

2) If he got it at the beginning, although possible, that is pretty damn quick for it to make its way down to California by chance. (I mean, the things were just not in demand. The best explanation would then be that it was originally placed in California by Mattel, or the kid's family moved after getting the SHA up North.)
3) If he got it after MUSCLEs had been around for a year or so, though still unlikely, it would have had more time to travel South West. (It's kind of like the LOtR Ring travelling to Sauron, except I think SHA was travelling toward Arforbes...)

4) The Nestle Quick can idea isn't bad, but I think it is already known what figures came with it (and they weren't special). But, still, that is a cool theory! (Don't forget about BHS, too!)
Also, cool avatar, Jaxon. Do you know anything about the kid who traded you the SHA? (I still remember the kids I traded MUSCLEs with.)

I have never thought of that, or heard of it. However, it is a pretty cool idea. Aside from Veers, I do not know of anybody that has many of the nestle quick figures. He has somehow gathered quite a few of them. Since nobody really knows for sure, I would accept that theory as much as any other. Personally I think ARFORBES created them (just as he created a bunch of SC's hahahaHas anyone thought of the possibility of the super rares being in packs of Nestle Quick?

Oh yeah and jax0n, I live in San Diego and if you really felt like driving, I would authenticise it for ya, but honestly, looking at the pictures, it appears to be 100% legit. I would, and have bid on your auction with no hesitation. Besides, I am just another guy, not to mention a chronic liar, people might not believe me either hahahah.
As far as the NY theory smashed, these things travel all over the damn place. The majority were found northeast so by one being found in cali does not disprove the theory. Maybe the mexicans had some super rares too.
I love you guys. Even Veers the a-hole.

Not so. No one knows for sure what all figures were available that way.4) The Nestle Quick can idea isn't bad, but I think it is already known what figures came with it (and they weren't special). But, still, that is a cool theory! (Don't forget about BHS, too!)
And if it were true, that they were only available that way, then that would explain why so few have shown up on the radar screen.
That being said, this Toyfare exposure should bump more collections to eBay, and who knows what might pop up.

I don't know would it fit in the package? Hey Veers, are all those Nestle packages the same size or do they vary??????Has anyone thought of the possibility of the super rares being in packs of Nestle Quick? They probably wouldn't have put them in 4 or 10 packs due to space restraints or breaks, but they might have jammed some new sculps in a pack of delicious chocolate mix!
That might also explain the rarity of them, since the Nestle deal wasn't around too long. Just an idea. I'm sure someone has thought of this.
Hey yeah, Jaxon give us a name so we can hound him too!!!! If Zabasearch don't find him we can try classmates.com

Nathan, do you have a contact number/email for the guy that interviewed you. If so, you need to point out the SHA auction and see if he'll put that in there too---that ought to bring some more out!!!!

Hell, someone forward him a screen shot from that BHS auction this year that went for close to a grand! Really though, can you imagine the exposure the community would get based on Toyfare running an article about the super rares and their astronomical prices? Every one and their brother would be digging through attics looking for their MUSCLEs, which would do 3 things:Nathan, do you have a contact number/email for the guy that interviewed you. If so, you need to point out the SHA auction and see if he'll put that in there too---that ought to bring some more out!!!!
1. More super rares would no doubtedly surface, and...
2. There would be so many muscle auctions that prices for average figures would plummet to pretty damn low, and...
3. Our community would probably double or triple as soon as the nostalgia hit.

As for Memo, I cant remember what his last name was, but after elementary school, he probably went on to Toll Junior High, then Hoover High School in Glendale. And he would have graduated in 93' like me. I guarantee you that this would have been the path Memo took only if he never moved from the Glendale area. He was really short, and had a bunch of brothers & sisters. Sorry guys, but this was a LONG time ago, and these are really the only details I can remember.
Also, I have (1) grape colored figure which I have no clue where it came from. My point being, is that I stopped collecting M.U.S.C.L.E.s before the colored ones ever came out. Thats the only thing I can think of as to why I never had any color M.U.S.C.L.E.s. (except for the mysterious grape one) =)
But I do remember seeing them on the shelves at Toys R Us back when my dad used to take me. Ahh, "the Good ol Days"!!
** This next bit of info has nothing to do with (SHA), but I thought it might be pretty cool for all of the Mattel enthusiasts here. I spoke to my mom earlier today and she told me something that I totally forgot about. (I was really young).. Back in '78, she was the Executive Secretary to some Big-Wig Controller at Mattel back when it was still in Hawthorne. His last name was Rioux. This is what she tells me..

Subject: Outrageously priced M.U.S.C.L.E.s
Hello,
Recently you interviewed a friend of mine from Nathan's M.U.S.C.L.E. page for the piece in issue #99 concerning Satan Cross. I would like to point out that although he is the most valuable of those that have been found still sealed in M.U.S.C.L.E. packaging, he is far from the most valuable.
There are 4 known figures to date of whom have a scarcity and value make the Satan Cross figure seem like peanuts.
http://www.littlerub...?showtopic=2420
Spinning Head Ashuraman, who has gone for as much as $400+ and of which there is currently an auction on eBay which should easily eclipse that:
http://cgi.ebay.com/...1QQcmdZViewItem
Black Hole Sunshine, who sold last year for an ASTOUNDING $910 (which surpassed the price of $400 for the previous M.U.S.C.L.E. high dollar amount)
Drunken Master and Black Emporer, who have a current known quantity of 1 each. These were both "lot" finds, so their actual market value is yet to be seen.
So in the interest of generating more exposure for our online community and possibly unearthing other, as of yet, unknown figures, I just thought I'd let you guys know.
And while the common 235 M.U.S.C.L.E.s may average between .50 and $1 each, there are a handful of non-poster sculpts that reach insane amounts on the open market.
Thank you for your time,
-Johnny
