...not nearly as impressed as the product photos made them look. But to be fair, the ones I really looked at were the newer Dinofroz World guys, not the first series.

There a checklist anywhere? I'm wondering if there's gems in the line you simply didn't get.

I picked up 10 of these today from Home Bargains... seems they've hit the clearance shops already, so these went into the basket along with my daily boxes of Gormiti :fop:

They're rather dinky, aren't they? I might have to get more of these, although I certainly wouldn't have contemplated paying full price for them.

Ooh, which Home Bargains was that? I'm off to wherever that is - tomorrow. Yep.

Be careful because so far I've only seen them in the Liscard (Wallasey) branch, and that was on Sunday, so I don't know if there'll be any left there.

Since then I've been to the two in town (Bold St and Lord St), the Branded Bargains on London Road (same chain), the Birkenhead one and the two on Prescot Road (Kensington and Old Swan) - without any joy on the Dinofroz front.

The distribution in these stores is really uneven!

EDIT: Branded Bargains had a few today (Tuesday) so I bought some more. I'll most likely end up with a few doubles (I already had 2 of the #7 Velociraptors just from the ten I bought the other day) so will definitely be up for trades.

Okay, here is my current collection after today, I have 19 of the 24 different sculpts so far. Very pleased with these little guys:

Attached File  Dinofroz2.JPG   52.65K   52 downloads

There are 48 different figures in total, two colour variations of each sculpt; however it seems only the odd-numbered figures can be found in the single packs (ie 1, 3, 5 etc) so I guess the even-numbered ones must be available in multi-packs or something.

I looked in the one on Bold Street, and there they are, 59p each. Wonderful! I only bought five, as that's all I could fit in my backpack thingy, but I'll probably get some more tomorrow. I like these things a lot. Took a while to figure out how to make the ice, ages 6+ my arse!

Bingo. The even-numbered figures are available in 3-packs (1 visible figure, 2 in eggs). And whereas the single figure packs are random, the 3-packs appear to be fixed. A branch of Home Bargains near my parents had eight 3-packs, each with a different visible figure (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 and 48) - and sho'nuff, I got all 24 even-numbered figures from those packs ^_^

Enough esoterica for now, people seem bored enough by this line already, so for what it's worth, this is what a full set of 48 figures looks like ;)

they're not as cool as i remembered or had hoped, one of the two. anyway, if i were going to get some of these i'd only want to get the protoceratops(maybe?), triceratops, ankylosaurus & styracosaurus.

I WISH THEY WERE ON CLEARANCE HERE.

Here, I have to pay $8 FOR A SINGLE FIGURE.

Come on, they're TINY and SO NOT WORTH $8.... but from those photos they look so cool and I want them. I hate this dilemma! I hate it!

8 Ozzie dollars? That's about 4 quid a figure. Yeah, too expensive in my book for something that is only a little more than an inch high.

There a checklist anywhere? I'm wondering if there's gems in the line you simply didn't get.

I have about 50 paper copies, haha, but I finally found a checklist online:

Thank you so much for finally posting a checklist. Especially as this is one of the very few toylines I have seen dig very deep in the list of known dinosaurs. How often does ANYONE see a Prenocephale or Phantasaurus in plastic?!

There's a few I hadn't heard of... but Phantasaurus isn't a real dino! They made him up for the series :D

But I only know this because on the little card spinner that comes with it, in the place where they would normally print the era the dinosaur lived in (Cretaceous etc), it says "Fantasy Dinosaurs".

eff me, that's embarassing... the only way I can maintain credibility after that is by virtue of not having seen him or the other Dinofroz in person anyway.

I never saw Dinofroz World in the UK, so I picked some from the continent up on eBay last week.

Sure enough, yesterday I found some doublepacks in Poundstretcher (discount chain) :D

Let me tell you, these are seriously nice minifigures, twice as big as the first series of Dinofroz and well detailed, but retaining the SD proportions.

They also did away with the "frozzing" gimmick, so new more screwing around with chemical slush.

Seeing these reminded me that I picked up some Dinofroz Combact from Italy a while ago. I just need to find them...

There's no Poundstretchers in Liverpool city centre any more I don't think? There's Poundland in St John's and Poundworld near Tesco, perhaps?

It was the one in Birkenhead anyway.

Anyway, I found my Dinofroz Combact from Italy. These are bigger again, but with exaggerated spikes and teeth and things. I think I like these best, my camera doesn't do them justice.

Wow, really? They made a glyptodont? Awesome. Is the one on the left another made-up dino, or just taking a lot of liberties with its appearance?

Hmm, tempting at that price but who knows what those things are like compared to the "real" Dinofroz. It's one thing if they're factory rejects, but it would be incredibly easy for them to be bootlegs instead and look like garbage.

I did, however, they won't reach my doorstep until the beginning of the second week of January, after they go through customs.
I'll definitely post pictures. For 8 dollars for 10 figures, it'll still be hard to get mad, if they suck.

Unless they're made out of anthrax.
Then I'll be pissed.

So, not to necrobump like crazy, but there seems to be a lot of new stuff out of Dinofroz since we last talked about them. The Dinfroz: Tribes for instance, and then Duel and Skeleforce...
