Yes, the Pats were blowing people away at the beginning of the year, and things have slowed down a little. There is more film on them, and the wear and tear of the year, I'm sure, is getting to them.

However, we all know the week after week, it's common for NFL games to come down to the final quarter, final possession, and final play... bottom line, good teams find a way to win, while lesser teams "find" a way to lose.

Tom & Co. were cool as cucumbers on that final drive. How many other QBs and teams would have made it happen? Seriously maybe 2-3 other QBs in the league can do what Brady does.

Having said all that... I think the Steelers have got their number. :yucky:

Tell me about it.......those 35 penalty yards at the end didnt help us lose at all. :ulp: I hope that guy gets a HUGE fine....that was totally ridiculous. The Ravens were playing so well.....then they lost their focus in the last 3 or 4 minutes of the game. This was our super bowl and we lost it at the end. :yucky:

Man those Pats are awesome!!! You know the '72 Dolphins are scared the Pats are going all the way!! :ulp: (I hate the Dolphins)

Congrats to my Bills though!! 4th quarter come from behind win over the 'Skins....that's what I'm talking about. And my Raiders took care of business with the stupid Broncos....what a great sunday. Now if only Boise State didn't have to travel to Hawaii for thier stupid bowl game this weekend would have been marvelous..... :yucky:

I'm also thinking about the interception at the end of the half that should have led to a field goal for the Ravens. The Pats made a heads-up play by stripping it away, while the Ravens defender lost his focus for a moment. Plays like that add up over the course of a game and often come back to haunt teams in the end.

I'm also thinking of plays like the Eagles made at the end of the game this week. A 62 yard punt return to the 14 yard line only to throw an interception. If that were the Pats, they'd of had a touchdown for sure.

The Pats stay focused and win games, while us lesser teams have trouble connecting the dots. Oh, the dots are there, but we just can't connect 'em.

:ulp:

TBN, didn't Boise just play Hawaii? Who wants to see them play again in a bowl game? :yucky:

An evil, evil thought just occurred to me... You know what could very, very easily happen?

The Pats could go undefeated ALL season... in the playoff... and LOSE in the Super Bowl.

That, my friends, would be hysterical.

Thanks for the reminder. I just remembered this too.....dont forget that our QB threw the ball for an interception right to a Pat player. Then in the replay you saw that there were NO Ravens in that part of the field......there were 4 Pat players, 0 Ravens. I dont know who he threw that too.... :yucky:

Yeah they played Hawaii, but Hawaii is going to the Sugar Bowl against Georgia in New Orleans so the Hawaii bowl comittee could pick whoever they wanted to play in the Hawaii Bowl. They picked Boise 'cause our fans are crazy about traveling. We shipped 15,000 to Hawaii this last time we played which is why I am sure the Hawaii comittee picked them up...but that was for the WAC championship. Boise should have stayed home for the Humanitarian Bowl, then I could've gone to the game. :yucky: Oh well, BSU rocks either way. Since joining the WAC in '01 we have only lost 4 conference games. e+

That would be funny if the Pats lost in the superbowl, perfect season ends with no superbowl ring. :ulp:

This is the hardest team we have left in the season,They do have a shot at giving us the loss.

Funny,I was at work today saying if the Steelers can't pull it off the Dolphins have a good shot at it,
Dolphins get their 1st win Patriots get their 1st loss,Think about it stranger things have happened
in the NFL.

I have to disagree. If not for Jeff Reed's field goal kick with less than a minute in the game, The Fish could have taken the Steelers down in OT 2 mondays ago. Both teams looked like shizznite that night but in my opinion, it was a fun game to watch. All that mud and rain was awesome.

In a side note, the whole week after that game, all anyone did around here was complain about the field conditions saying they should put turf down, which I think is lame. This is football, people. When you take the organic elements out of the game, it takes some of the excitement out of it. I mean, would The Frozen Tundra, Lambeau field, be as legendary today if not for a single game played under horrible conditions. Rain, snow, fog, wind, these are all things that make football fun to watch, and any football players complaing about the weather need to be schooled by some old time players in how to be tough.

I was surprised that not alot of people were blaming the Pats "low score" on the wind here in Baltimore Monday night. The wind was blowing SO much I thought my house was gonna fall down. I figure it is just one of those thing you have to deal with when playing the game.

I agree with what your saying...but I also agree with the fact that the adverse weather conditions was a big factor in why that game was close. I also watched that game, and yes, the Steelers played like Shizz...the Dolphins...well, they played the way they have been pretty much playing all season...like shizz. I will though however consider the fact the Dolphins only have one hard team to play against. The Pats, so I shouldn't have written them off already....just shows you how much I hate the Phins...How crappy/funny would that be if they beat my Bills!!!  :( .....wait...it wouldn't be funny....

Hey, TBN, I'll be getting to see your Bills up close! I'm going to the Eagles last game of the season, which they play at home against the Bills.

Right now you guys are at 6-6, and we're at 5-7. If we're both fighting to hit/stay at .500, it should be a great, competitive game.

A small part of me (a VERY small part) wants both the Steelers and Dolphins to lose this weekend just so the Dolpins have a chance at beating the Pats and taking their undefeated season away. Thats the only way that the Dolphins could gain any shred of dignity this season in my opinion. Being winless, then going on to beat an undefeated team and saving their own record as the only undefeated team. It's like they would be defending their own honor instead of some other team saving their ass, ya know?

Deep down inside I feel the same way.The Dolphins have a lot of great players on their team but for some odd reason or another things just don't work out for them.Im telling you guys this team is going to come out and play hard against the Pats, don't be shocked if they pull off a win, they always play us hard.

And, there a many people apparently saying Monday night's game was fixed.

It's their black uniforms. Studies have shown that teams who wear predominantly black uniforms (Steelers, Raiders, Bengals, Saints, Ravens, etc) tend to be penalized more than teams who wear lighter colored uniforms. Black uniforms have also been proven to make the team wearing them more aggressive than teams who wear lighter colored uniforms.

Similar study to the one about black and red cars get ticketed more often. Maybe it's just urban myth. Either way, my Bills don't have cool uniforms, nothing like the Raiders!!

I hope the Pats get an undefeated record, then we can stop hearing about how special the '72 Dolphins were...sorry, my Dolphins hatred got in there :) ... plus, I love Randy Moss, he is a prick, but did any of you all read that Sports Illustrated cover on him back in like '05? I gained alot of respect for him. When he "mooned" the packers fans back in '04 I laughed because that's what packers fans do to the Vikings team when they show up on the bus....okay back on track.... Go Brady and Moss!! AND... Bill Belicheck for sticking it to the "MAN" and wearing whatever he damn wants to!! ;) :D

Hadn't heard about the uniform thing but red cars tend to get ticketed more because an optical illusion makes them seem like they're going faster than a car going the same speed. Also no one's mentioned America's team lately :p Cowboys & Pats in the Super Bowl anyone? (and maybe the Pats are slowing down cuz they are no longer filming and stealing other teams' signals--damn cheats!!! :D

EDIT: Ok the red car thing is mentioned in my daughter's book on optical illusions but Snopes.com says it's not true? the book also says all carrot packages have blue on them because blue makes orange look brighter

I was waiting for others to post first, but my initial thoughts are:

(1) Perhaps the Pats let their guard down a little bit against the Eagles and Ravens, and were on their game for the Steelers, or

(2) Eagles and Ravens did a much better job of confusing Brady and getting in his face -- even sacking him a few times.

It wasn't so much that the Steelers played bad, because they didn't, it was a case of the Patriots just looking AMAZING again. This leads me to consider option (2) more than option one.

Just my thoughts...
