i'd want to see a monster squad movie re-make. i loved it when i was a kid, but it just doesn't have as much zazz by today's standards.
i'll be adding more to this list, just gonna have to give it some thought.
if i encounter the demons in hell, i will kill them all..

Update anything nowadays and it'll be 80% green screen, 20% Shia LaBeouf...

But let's see. hmm.....
Captain America. I kind of liked the older 80's version back in the day, but I'm pretty sure they could knock it out of the park now.
Robot Jox. One of those Meh 80's scifi titles with very great promise....but sorely fell short. This one could really use an up to date remake.
Inframan. I loved this classic Ultramanesque title, and wouldn't change a thing about it. But I would also like to see a modern take on this Great film.
I'd like to list more at this time, but I have to go.

I'd love to see a remake of "They Live".
Is that the film with Rowdy Roddy Piper and the magic glasses that allow him to see aliens? For if so, it's an effing awesome moovie!
I would love to see a live action film of Ulysses 31 - who would be a good lead role as Ulysses???

I wouldn't mind seeing The Rock, or Vin Diesel play Piper's part... And maybe Terrence Howard as David... He pulls off pathos well. Piper's part just has to be able to act confused and nutty.

Monster Squad was awesome, and I surely watched it at least once a week as a kid. It's also where I learned the word Fagot. I'll never forget the first time I used this term in reference to my Older Brother in front of my Dad. Ignorance was truly bliss.
Wolfman has NARDS!!!!!
That was a great movie!!!
I would like to see a Stripes remake, I think the ever famous Pauly Shore tried to do on with In the Army Now. But that movie sucked big time.
Also I think an updated Caddy Shack would be awesome!!!

I also think a Tron remake would be awesome, but I think that's essentially what we'll be getting with Tron 2.
Finally, I'd like a Godzilla reboot, again with respectful filmmakers (no GINO) and Weta-style special effects.

Monster Squad holds up just fine, got it for Christmas and i've watched it twice since then. I was actually really surprised at how funny it still is. And if they remake Monster Squad that means someone will be right there with a Goonies remake, and i'll have to start stabbing necks until it stops.
Really in my opinion the only time a movie needs remade is if the first attempt wasn't good. Say with something like 3:10 to Yuma. A lackluster first movie based on a great story, updated with a great director and great actors. Or if you're smart enough as a director to pay homage to the original while taking the premise in a completely new direction, like with the Dawn of the Dead remake.
Off the top of my head i can't think of much that i'd like remade...except maybe all the Marvel movies that got farmed out to terrible directors before they had their own studio. If i could get Ghost Rider and the Fantastic Four movies stricken from the record i'd be pretty happy. I'd also be happy with doing away with Superman Returns and 2/3 of the Batman movies. But now i'm veering towards a rant.
In general i'll just say that the problem with remakes is that usually it's an untalented hack or one-hit-wonder director that's remaking a tried and true classic from a unique and experienced director. And 9 out of 10 times, that equation is going to fail horribly.

Just, no "Best of the Best 2" or three for that matter... AWFUL.
Imagine Danny McBride as Chris Penn's character!
Maybe get Carl Weathers to play James Earl Jones' part.... If not him, Delroy Lindo?
(As an aside, I am a HUGE mark for Carl Weathers!)
