They are pretty cool. And, indeed, modular!

Direct links to the thread get blocked, but it's over on the site_blocked board under "European Painted Figures".

Yes, lots more information on Meteor Eggz is required. Even a link to the message board perhaps?

I remember the name, but I think it was around the time of all those dragon things (I hate dragons!), so I just assumed them to be that type of "thing" - how foolish was I!

They look mix-and-match-able...

This thread was before my time, but Ridureyu1's post linking to my Flickr pic tipped me off to the fact it existed, so I figured I'd give it a bump.

I've got four painted versions of these figures. Below is the pic I uploaded to Flickr. I want to say I got them out of a vending machine, but they could have been arcade prizes or something too. I don't remember exactly. Probably early-'00s.

I had no idea the clear mono versions existed, but I now have a few dozen on order from U.S. Toy. Hot damn, they look awesome. Can't wait 'til they get here.

I picked these up when they were in store at TRU and yes they are completely interchangeable. I also still have all the packagings to these guys.

These look to be about 2.25" or so... Better looking than the fizz and find monsters, too. Nice find!
